Bob Whittall: Looks like a good quality item.

E Shopper: The set up of the Worm Factory was really simple. I did not receive a DVD, instruction manual or a thermometer, however upon contacting the seller ( Young Urban Farmers ) I was provided with links to a comprehensive PDF instruction manual and great video support. I was also informed that the thermometer was switched in the kits to a moisture meter that I had in my kit. I was skeptical about there being an odor coming from the system but I can vouch for the claims that it is odorless now that I have it up and running. I definitely recommend the Worm Factory 360, it may be a bit pricey but the idea of indoor composting and having the ability to feed the garden worm castings and keeping the garden organic is well worth it. I am considering purchasing a second one to boost the volume of worm castings and compost ability.

KT: Great product! But I was disappointed that I received an obviously used worm bin with traces of crusted dirt around the edges - not what I expected after paying full price for a new one. Also the instructions seemed to be for the original Worm Factory, not the 360, so this might cause some confusion when setting it up. Been using it for a month with a small batch of worms and they seem to be doing well. No odor at all and if anything it's on the dry side thanks to the very absorbent coir bedding that came with it.

Tim S.: Very easy to assemble! Works if you follow the instructions. I would recommend the book, “Worms Eat My Garbage”, available from Amazon to refer to.
Bin available only in green for this offer. The 80 page guide and DVD are not included, as shown in the picture, as the book is now on-line only. The “SoilKey Rock Dust” comes in a tiny bag instead of a bottle, as shown in the picture; Makes using it a problem. Extra trays are available from Amazon, but only in black. They are available from Nature’s Footprint in US dollars only.

halfcent: It is too early to tell if it works or not, but I am very pleased with the product. It is so nice to order something that is complete all need to do is set it up and add worms. It seems so often you purchase something and wind up running to the store to find material required. Not so in this case, its all there.
I hope to do an update in 4-6 weeks from now and let you know how it is going.

Update Aug. 22. So far I am really pleased with my Worm Factory 360. I have it setup in the basement and there is virtually no smell at all. I have had no problems with fruit flies or any other uninvited critters. I do make sure I have lots of bedding material over the food with a damp newspaper cover on top of it. I started my second tray a couple of days ago, I was interested to see if the worms would migrate up to it. I probably could have gone another week before adding the tray but what the heck. Anyway, I am happy to saying that upon inspection this morning they are starting to move up. I will update again in a month and let you know how things are going.

Update Oct.01. Still very happy with my worm factory 60. I am now on tray number 3 and things are going great, my first...

ReadingJeanne: This is my first experience with vermicomposting. After researching it and various products, I decided to try the Worm Factory 360 because I felt the design looked practical and easy to use. I have had it about a month now, and it is working as promised! I started with one pound of red wiggler worms (purchased separately) and they are still working on the first tray, but I think it is about half composted and will add a second tray in the next few weeks. The set-up was simple, almost nothing to it. I assembled my worm bedding and wet it down a few days before the worms arrived, so it was all ready for them. Not a single worm has migrated or tried to escape! After reading one of the most common mistakes was to overfeed the worms, I have been careful not to do this, and only feed them a couple of handfuls of veggie/fruit scraps every 2 or 3 days. This is my only complaint so far--the worms are not keeping up with our volume of kitchen scraps (there are just 2 of us) yet, but I am hoping after they multiple and grow in volume I will be able to step up the feedings. No odors, you would never know it is in the house. I keep it in the utility room just because there is no convenient...

KU Grad 02: I did a lot of research and I've been very pleased with my decision to buy the Worm Factory 360. I started with 2 lbs of worms (versus one) because I knew that we would have enough kitchen scraps for the additional worms. The only surprise that I've had was when I put in a bunch of cantaloupe scraps (seed pulp and chopped up rinds) and opened the bin a week later to find tons of sprouts growing in the worm castings! I guess it goes to show how great a fertilizer the castings are...too bad it isn't time to plant cantaloupes!

I go ahead and chop up the worm food scraps while I'm preparing our food and put it in a plastic container inside the fridge. For example, it doesn't take much extra time to cut up the cucumber and avocado peels (I prefer to use kitchen shears) while making a salad. I also feel better recycling vegetables and fruit that I let spoil instead of just throwing them out (makes me feel less guilty about wasting food and money). I was able to finish my first full bin in a little over a month. I've avoided any bad smells by putting down a layer of wet shredded newspaper, a thick layer of food scraps, and then covering all of the food thoroughly with more wet...
