Nancy Perry: Thought theirs mat would take up less room, for me, but it’s too small. It pulls up when it’s scratched so my cat won’t use it. It’s under a chair keg now, but the cat has decided not to use it. Hope while being inside during the Winter, he’ll warm up to it. Love Sisal scratchers - no mess!!

TT: I was worried that my cats wouldn't use it because they are die hard scratching post fans, but they've actually been using this little scratcher! It is about the size of a placemat, but honestly it smells a little weird. My cats don't seem to mind, but it smells a bit like a sweaty foot. Other than that, it's a great buy.

Demetro: I realized when we got a new sofa, that in order to keep our cats from scratching on it, we actually had to sort of "enable" them by putting cat scratching surfaces where they like to scratch. Double-sided sticky tape and other dissuadants did nothing and were a waste of time and money, with our sofa still clawed-up.
I was more easily able to get hard cat scratching surfaces that go underneath the edge of the sofa, kind of like a stand up scratcher. But it was harder to figure out what to do around the shorter, rounded edges where there was no sofa back or arms. (For reference, we have a sectional sofa with a chaise lounge portion)
So I saw these mats when looking for " sofa cat scratcher", and realize that, since they seem to be flexible enough to go around the edge of a sofa, if I used adhesive velcro, I could get them to adhere without using any sort of hooks or pins that would puncture the sofa's fabric.
I'm happy with the result so far after installing it, but we'll see how it holds up to my cat's scratching on it. I can see already that I might have to add more adhesive Velcro in certain spots in the future. But for now, it's a low-cost way to save my...
