witch: I quite enjoy these mysteries, but the modern sayings, Americanisms and modern ideas do spoil them. I also enjoyed that they were set in Essex rather than London (mysteries set in London are ten a penny) with brief forays into London for our investigative duo, but if both families are going to relocate and everything is going to centre around London now, then for me, it's time to find a new author I'm afraid. I will see how the next one goes, but I fear it's going to be the end for me.

Kindle Customer: I have said before that I prefer female protagonists, but an American surgeon from the Civil War who finds himself a Lord in England has become a favorite. The friendship between him and Daniel, the policeman and his love for his independently thinking wife Katherine has endeared me further. I hope that Irina Shapiro keeps writing about Jason because I certainly love reading about him and his ability to solve the cases that come before him.

TRIMONTIUM: A very surprising twist to this and a hint of new directions. Some of the language is wrong for the time.

Montana Mackay: I love this series and wish there were ten more of them to read. This one, about a murder occurring during seance attended by a half dozen people, including Daniel Haze's wife Sarah, has an unusual twist near the end. The author doesn't hesitate to insert character flaws, and this book provides a surprising study of one character in particular. I like these people enough to feel an actual sense of loss about this individual -- wondering how things are going to go in the future. There, I skirted the spoiler issue as best I could. Looking forward to the next book.

Ms Judith Connett: What a brilliant story from one of the best series I have ever read. The storyline was gripping, full of mystery and suspense. Who was the perpetrator? The characters are so real, I feel I know them. This author is one of the best in bringing a story to life and I read a lot. In fact the series seems to get better and better, I hope they never end. They are always full of twists and turns and I have already preordered No 7.

Eileen Thornton: Having read the previous five books in the series, I couldn't wait for book six to be released. I had pre-ordered it and started reading the moment it arrived. I was not disappointed. Jason Redmond and Daniel Haze are quickly on the case when a man dies during a seance. However, when Jason and Daniel arrive to investigate the death, Jason finds that arsenic had been added to his glass of whisky. Could it have been added by one of the other people around the table? But that thought puts Daniel in a tight spot, as one of them happens to be his wife, Sarah, and he had no idea that she was even going to be there that evening.
A great read. As with the others in the series, I couldn't put this book down. I have already pre-ordered book 7.

Kindle Customer: I really liked this one, these books are never boring, so much happens in them and now there is a big change coming in the lives of these people. I really look forward to the next book in the series

Tanya F: I enjoy the Redmond and Haze series. Plot twist at the end with a storyline discovery. The duo take a trip to Scotland.
