steve: I don`t have a .308. I use this box for my .22s. each slot holds 2 Ruger BX25 mags. I carry 10 when I go shooting. I also have my Taurus TX22 muzzle down in one slot and a Keltec P17 in another. Spare mags for the pistols go in still another slot. Earmuffs and eye pro have plenty of room, also a knife and multitool. So when I want to shoot my .22s I have everything I want in this box, except of course my TCR22 rifle.
I have MTM products I bought an honest 40 years ago, and I have never had one crack, break, or fall apart.

Adam: Box works great. My AK mags (Xtech tactical 7.62x39) fit fine in the slots, but when putting them in both sides they stick up just a little bit to high making closing the box impossible. I'd really like to see an AK mag version of this with maybe a half or full inch in additional height. I'm able to fill one side with the mags tipped forward a bit to close the box.

Can store ammo as a well, i have transported this case to the range & put it right on the table beside me when I'm shooting. Having instant assess to 15 fully loaded mags is where its at.
