TC: I own many ring products and this is just what I needed at the front entrance to my house. Works perfectly, battery has never got yo weak.

charles c.: Overall a good little solar camera.
Pros:
1. The camera is really good
2. I don't have an outlet near this so solar was great. It is sitting on my fence so this made installation a breeze.

Cons:
1. The light is so so -- but I didn't buy it for the light really, I got it so I could see when someone came up my driveway as this is a blindspot on my house.
2. Buy a second battery because after about a month it just seemed to die. A second battery helped a lot.
3. Ring should have a setting for you to say how long to keep the light on. I find it annoying that it turns off really quickly.

Richard A Waggoner: I own three of these. The solar panels don’t charge well during winter or when overcast. However, they work great on sunny days. I am having to regularly charge and change batteries this winter. Plan on buying extra batteries. The sensor is active when it shouldn’t be, as I’ve set appropriate on/off times. Not sure why this is happening, but it’s frustrating that my batteries get wasted when I don’t need the lights.

Terry_Truth: This Solar flood light did not charge from day one. I thought it was due to not enough sunlight in Winter. Finally, I found that it did not charge in full direct sunlight. I called tech support and tech support told me the solar panel is bad after troubleshooting. I told I purchased a White color solar panel and white solar floodlight. I received a BLACK SOLAR PANEL as a replacement. I connected to the RING Solar floodlight. Waited for 2 days with full direct sunlight. No charge. I called again and explained the problem. The agent told me they cannot replace my black panel because it was already shipped (what a response). And I was told the unit is bad and RING will ship the replacement unit. OKAY. I waited for about 2 weeks. I received the wrong product. I received RING FLOODLIGHT BATTERY (Model No. 5B21S8). My experience with this unit wasn't pleasant at all including climbing up the shed roof taking the battery back for USB charging, put it back to see whether it will charge.

Joey C.: Package and instructions arrived earlier than expected, with easy set-up through the Ring app using the provided QR code. Install was simple enough as well - Ring provides the hardware and a small screw-driver, but I'd recommend a small powered drill/screw driver. Installation took about 15 minutes, including ladder set-up, mounting time, and app programming.

The mounting panel can separate from the light, so I'd recommend giving the batteries a little bit of a charge while you install the light mounting plate and solar panel mount, then program the light in the app while you're on the ground. The light then snaps into the mounting plate, and the solar panel snaps into the solar panel mount as well. The solar panel plugs into the bottom of the light via a quite-lengthy cord.

We mounted our lights on the East and West sides of our home, into vinyl siding, with the solar panels directly above the lights, facing south for maximum sun in the Northeastern part of the U.S. The screws provided are small enough to not pierce through the home, but threaded properly to grip the vinyl appropriately for mounting. Neither the solar panel nor the lights are very heavy, but secure...
