P. MasonP. Mason: Raided Amazon warehouse to find this zapper since most usually bug zappers are less than adequate in terms of durability. Ppl wanna try to shake fried bugs loose and usually it just kills my bulb very early on. But the wasps and hornets are taking over... it's horrifying when you're allergic. Just sayin' I've only had this one for a few hours of daylight and then overnight. Obviously it zaps energetically. I dont know quite what to think about the poor frog, guess him, the one I accidentally flushed, and the other one still squashed against my back door frame can be zombie frogs? Lotta trees lotta frogs. But now about a thousand flies, moths and more than a couple hornets have gone buh-bye in just hours. The noise is astonishing but I love it. Even in daylight it zaps, but I have kept the room dark mostly. Best thing : haven't had to evade a single wasp or hornet ALL DAY. priceless. I figure several frogs and lizards will perish as well, but I imagine I can live with that if I must. Bugs gotta go. Just FYI, the froggy sizzled for several looong minutes. Horrid, really. But you know the zapper got some serious voltage going on. oh and as far as durability, I...

JM: My only complaint is that I did not get one of these sooner. It's absolutely amazing. I have a shady front porch that bugs love to hang out around, and last year the fly situation was out of control. I tried many different things including pest control company, various fly traps, citronella plants. This year I hung this bug zapper near the porch, and there are practically no bugs, about 5% of what there was last year! It feels sturdy and durable. I bought another one as a gift for someone else who had a patio bug problem and they love it as well. Highly recommend.

Only reason I gave it a 4 star instead of 5 is because there needs to be an easier way to get bugs our around light. The little brush is nice but it is a little hard to get in between the wires. It makes the brushes bristles go all different directions making it hard to get in to clean. And the only other way would be to unscrew every time which is a pain also. But it does do a great job at killing bugs. Oh also make sure clean outside because there are live bugs in bottom of tray that you remove to get the bugs out also. It just unscrew and that is very easy to clean. I couldn't believe how many dead and alive bugs that it zaps really like how it works. Only complaint is the cleaning around light

T.J.: I had one of these on top of a cabinet between the kitchen and living room and it caught a bunch of flying insects every night but it died after 9 months. I bought a new one since i found no warranty info on it, but the new one doesn't work, it makes a popping sound but not a zapping sound and I have fount no bugs dead. I had some medical issues and didn't set it up for a few weeks and don't know if it will be replaced by Amazon because now it was purchased over a month ago. Very disappointing because the old one worked so well. Amazon has authorized a return with replacement, very pleased.
