Byron: I bought two of the CK 300 units in 2017 and install them on Monte Carlo fans (5SI series, RB model). Prior to the remote control. It was just a pull chain and a manual switch for reversing the direction. The installation of the remotes was straightforward and simple. The instructions were good. Fast forward to 2023 and one fan remote stopped working. I figured that something got messed up electronically so I ordered a new unit for $169. Two months later and outside the return window, I went to do the repair but discovered that it was just a dead battery. I had completely forgotten it took a battery and had not changed it for six years. So pay attention to the details!

Lindy: Like the Monte Carlo fan, this switch and remote are top quality. The fan is very easily controlled with it. The wall mount allows the remote to be mounted where it is most convenient. Our Electrician praised all these units.

Rumpilstilskin: the picture on the advertisement for this product shows two transmitters. one hand held and one to be installed in the wall. this is missleading because you only get one transmitter that can be used either way!!! This should be stated on the advertisement!!!!!!!

reggers: This item works as designed. It is a remote control and receiver for a compatible fan.

My only issue with it is the packaging/description picture. It appears as if it contains two items - the wall unit *AND* the remote control, when in fact it is only one unit that can be used in *either* the wall *or* remote control.

So I had to pony up another $30 for an additional remote/transmitter to use as on the wall. not a problem.
