Michael P.: Bought this for the Concept I fan. New wired wall control unit that came with the fan would not work with my house wiring. Light switch had red, black and ground. Minka Aire wall control instructions mentioned black, black and ground. Remote worked fine when capping off the red hot wire in the ceiling, and using black, white and ground for the receiver. Not sure about the wired wall control units. Maybe this will help someone who is having the same issue I did.

BethAnn: Our wall controller died after many years of faithful service. I called the fan manufacturer who gave me the correct unit to order. I did call a friend with some electrical experience to hook up the wiring. Works great and looks great!

William FrederickWilliam Frederick: Utilized the WCS212 switch to replace a TR111A switch that failed after approximately 10 years. Basic installation was straightforward, following the included instructions. The unit includes wire nuts and three face and cover plates (brown, white and ivory) including color matching screws. We did not utilize the cover plates as we were reinstalling our existing brass cover plate. In reinstalling our existing cover plate, we discovered the unit screw holes are smaller than standard electrical cover plates. There are no issues if you are using the cover plate and screws included with the unit. We had to tap the screw holes to increase the size to accept our standard size screws. We do not understand why they did not utilize a standard size screw.
The new switch works the same as the original.
