John A. Baltierra: The Awair Element Indoor Air Quality Monitor worked well for 20 months, and then it's died. I like how it just sat there, in its appointed location, sensing temperature, humidity, CO2, VOCs, and PM2.5 levels, in my living room, which is the best location within my apartment. It had a 1-year warranty and it lasted 2/3 longer. However, I purchased this unit from Amazon for $149, all of 20 months ago. Now, Amazon's price is $281, while this vendor asks $265. For a 1-year warranty, I won't buy this unit again at such prices. I highly recommend the Awair Element Indoor Air Quality Monitor...at $149. It just sat there, always on, without a battery to fuss with. How can it only last 1 year, or only 20 months? Newer tech is available now, so I'll look for that.

Yannick Lanz: Leider ist nur ein UK Plug in der Lieferung enthalten, was in der Produktbeschreibung nicht erwähnt wird! Muss jetzt leider noch 2 Plug separat kaufen um die beiden Geräte anzuschliessen.

Kvas: I was a bit nervous about getting this because of a slew of negative reviews, but so far I haven't had any problems with it, it quickly connected to WiFi and has worked fine ever since. In particular for people put off by some of the reviews, air sensors are pretty finicky, particularly in areas like VOCs. I got the Awair Element after my much more expensive BlueAir permanently pegged at lethal levels of VOCs that aren't actually there, rendering it useless. Given the choice between the BlueAir (discontinued, and giving useless VOC readings), the Edigreen (discontinued), the Foobot (discontinued), and the only real survivor that hasn't been discontinued, the uHoo costing three times as much and without a built-in display, it was the Awair or nothing. So far I've had it for a month and it's been fine over that time, the only very minor it is that it has a built-in fan to move air over the sensors which is audible in a silent room, but that barely counts as an issue.

Trish Reardon: Great product. Very accurate and informative for air quality in the home.

FreeBlackfish: I don't get the complaints here. It works well, and that's including the app. Setup with the app was easy, and took dictionary-definition "literally" 30 seconds.

I bought it because my neighbor downstairs smokes from his balcony. I set up the Awair just inside from the my balcony. The Awair lets me know when it's time to close the sliding doors to my balcony: if the particulate matter reading spikes, I immediately close it.

The periodic alerts from the app are unobtrusive, useful and they let me know the unit is working. I was fascinated to learn that my air often has high-ish carbon dioxide levels (which can make one feel sluggish and compromise decision-making), even when the balcony door is open, and that opening other windows helps decrease the CO2 levels. I feel better knowing that I'm doing what's reasonably possible to decrease CO2, VOC, and particulate matter levels (airing out the apartment beyond just having the sliding door open with the screen door on, getting some Coway and Winix air filters, etc.

It's great. I'm glad I got it, and as my title says, I just bought a second one. I'm considering a third.

lee: The Awair is easy to use, hook up, reset, understand app results, but accuracy? I have doubt 4 out of the 5 sensors it has are dead on accurate. Temperature, humidity, CO, particulate matter. You can also trust it to inform you of events that are taking place you may not know about. But in terms of the Total VOC measurement, all I trust it for is to tell me when levels are increasing or decreasing. In terms of what they are and whether levels are safe, I think it's useless. There are a lot of studies out there backing up the claim that total VOC level measurements are useless without a breakdown of VOC sources to go with it. And that is exactly what you get with the Awair reading. It is not portable and has to be recalibrated if you want to use it to look for VOC sources. Also, I've read you may have to let it sit and calibrate VOC's for a month or more in one spot if you want to be able to trust any reading you get. So my advise is buy it for the other 4 sensors and only trust the green light to tell you things are good.

tyler: This air quality monitor is the only one I found that includes: CO2, TVOC, PM, WIFI/BLUETOOTH, and integration with Google Home. I shied away from it for almost a month because several reviewers said it was difficult to get connected to wifi and that it was flakey about staying connected. I'm happy to report it was one of the easiest smoothest installations of any techy device ever. Instructions were clear and accurate; not a single hiccup or issue - fully set up in 5 minutes. And the functionality of the app and the on-device display is perfect. Total homerun!

follow-up after a week: The other caution from reviews I read was that the minimalist design was too cryptic and not clearly informative. I find the unit to be very nicely designed and the display is a super clever way to present all the useful data without looking like a loud eyesore in your room. 5 lines of dots show you 5 key metrics and if that's too complicated the single number on the display is your overall air quality score from 1 to 100. OR you can customize the display to more literally show you any 1 of the 5 metrics. The display on this is a design achievement.
