Al McC.: Took me some time to perfect the fastest way to create smoke and keep it going for the entire cook time with a gas grill. I use half soaked chips and half dry chips. Place the box directly onto the burner (remove the flavor savor) and start with burner on high for 5 minutes before dropping it down to low for rest of the cook time. I have found this method works so well that I'm smoking meats more often just bc it's no longer a pain in the butt to get the smoke started and keep it going.

Obviously any box could do this but this is the one I have. Cheers.

NA: It's build quality exceeds what I expected. Sturdy with reasonably thick steel. Haven't found the secret to getting it to generate much smoke though.

Michael: It really does work well on a gas grill! I put my wood chips in the box and use a kitchen torch to get them smoking and place the box on the grill. That insures there's already smoke available for when I put the food on the grill. By the time I'm done I can taste and smell the addition of the smoke. Highly recommend.

MK: I used the product this weekend to smoke chicken breast and sausage with cherry wood. Trick on a gas grill is to put box over grill that you are using for heat when you initially turn grill on and leave at high heat to clean grill. I normally burn 15 minutes high heat then drop the temp down. Cherry and Hickory both smoked well. After turning hit down for slow cook box puts out a slow continuous burn of smoke. It worked great on my 2 burner pit.

central florida cracker: The smoker I spent an arm and a leg for never got enough smoke or even close to enough smoke to consider the meat smoked. I discovered these boxes, read the directions and will be smoking again very soonl. . Smoking in a Less expensive fashion. Thank goodness I have a grandson to give the old smoker to, in some ways he is a better cook than am I.
