Seafood mama: I love these! So easy to use. I have strength issues in both my hands and arms. With these pruners it's easy to tackle my pruning chores.
If you stay within the suggested limb size your job will be done faster than you can imagine!!

mary: This is a very sturdy product and that's great. Heavy to use for me since I'm a smallish woman with a bit of arthritis. It cuts cleanly though and easily and I used it for a good bit of work. The adjustment on the handles is well made and the lock option keeps the handles from sliding while you are working. Makes a long reach much more doable and steady. Works great on bigger branches.

JeffJeff: Thought I was getting a good product as the original price was quite high before the discount.
Handle bent on first use pruning my plum tree (not hard wood) Branch was only 2 1/4" diameter. Cut through ok? I didn't notice it was bent until I went to shorten the handles. Now it won't shorten one side.
Blade also took on a serrated edge from the mating jaw. I've pruned trees for many years, not happy with this lopper.

Mike + Jessica: I Bought these because the fiberglass non-extendable ratcheting pare I have hid themselves at a time of need. The ratchet mechanism works fine to reduce work load, however it's a little sensitive and it's easy to skip ratchet levels, which of course steals some of the leverage, with practice that get's better but I'm a tool guy, so if I noticed the sensitivity, you may as well. The extendable arms are easy and quick to function, a light twist at the end of the grip releases and locks it easily enough that it's ALMOST a one-handed job while you steer your lawn tractor. This feature is great for getting up a little higher for LIGHTER DUTY branches and reaching out from your lawn tractor to snag some stuff as you pause without getting up.

I have a mix of black-walnut, overgrown willows, oaks, and some softer wood varieties like evergreens on my property. On thicker and harder branches the extensions are NOT functional for additional leverage only for reach in my opinion. I was hoping they would serve as both, and while the blade is sharp enough and cuts fairly well, extending the arms on thicker or harder branches quickly leads to the arms...

A. Holloway: I am a 70 year old female disabled veteran. I am often in a wheelchair or on crutches. I try to keep mobile and as useful as I can. My husband sawed limbs off a tree outback (following storm Irma) and I put to task me cutting the side branchs off the main limb. Majority of the time it simply cut through the branch(s). There were some that were 3/4 thick. This brought into play the ratcheting side of things. At one point for the largest (perhaps more than 3/4") I pushed one handle against the other and put the one handle against my wheelchair arm). Ratcheted 3 times and bingo..cut. They are somewhat heavier than previous loppers. But, look at the reason WHY. First, they are telescoping...that means inside the handles are another SET of handles to reach out. Yep heavier. They are ratcheting so that makes for a slightly heavier head. LOVE THEM. We used to have another type of ratcheting loppers. You just "twisted" the handles to pull out the inner handles. Problem was...when you went to cut they would "untwist" so every time you went to cut with the longer ones they would "un telescope" to the shorter version. AGHGH It was uselesss.
The knobs on...

Shimmer: I purchased this item to better be able the oak tree branches outside the condo we moved in a year ago, that were encroaching on the house and blocking light. I had tried to use an old, shorter totally manual trimmer with dull blades, but didn't want to spend a fortune on more than I need. I used this item for the first time yesterday, and am so impressed! It is so well made, sturdy yet lightweight, and very simple to understand and use. I don't understand the reviews that say there is something confusing or possibly faulty about the length adjusting mechanism- I am usually bad about such things, but it was very easy for me. I am a 62 year old but youthful woman, and have learned to be careful around the combination of heights and anything sharp, and I felt very safe with this product. Be sure you do the obvious and move to the side beneath any branches you are trying to cut. I was able to cut through a 2 inch branch with only two tries, so this will cut anything I would ever need trimming. It is so refreshing in this day of shoddy products to buy one and have it be better than I was hoping for!
