Mike Elliott: This is a professional quality test light suitable for testing 12v vehicle electrical systems. Well built, solid feel. The main alligator clip connector is surrounded by an insulating sleeve, pull that back, clip on, replace the insulator. Spare bulbs available. Does the job, what more do you need.

Jay Clark: I originally bought this and another test light with a LCD screen because I wasn't sure which I'd like better. Glad I did as this one didn't end up working out for me for what I really needed it for.
I wanted them to test a 6v glow plug circuit to make sure I was getting power at all of them and this wouldn't light up on any of the connectors. My other one did and said I was around 5.5v on all of them. Not sure if that's just too low for this one to light up on but a 6v light should work even at that. I don't have any equipment to modulate voltage so I can't test exactly when it starts working but I did try it on a pretty dead mower battery I was replacing that was 10.*v and it lit up on that fwiw.
It does work fine for 12v stuff though so I decided to keep it as a spare. When I bought this in 2019 it was only $17.13, there is absolutely no way I'd buy this today for the current price of $29.87. The light with the LCD screen & volt meter was $21.99 then and is currently on sale for the same price and works from 3v-48v so it's a much better value imo.

Amazon Customer: for an incandescent test light this is very good, the needle end is threaded so you can install different ends if you have the screw to banana jack adapter

Chris007: Like it cause of the small needle point easy to back probe and comes with small alligator clip to screws at the pointing tip when needed! Great purchase for electric trouble on cars or trucks.

RyanRyan: What a great test light! This should be in every mechanics tool box, from beginners to professionals. I am a professional mechanic, and I purchased this after years of using an LED test light (shown in picture two).
I immediately tested the amp draw of the OTC test light vs a snapon one (nothing wrong with that one by the way) and it proves a incandescent bulb is because it draws .156mA of current. The LED test light only draws 0.048mA
The construction of this test light is better than expected, and the coiled wire will not be an issue, it is very flexible and stretches far with ease. The Snapon coiled wire always pulls off when you rug it slightly, but the OTC has a great alligator clip that is easy to compress and has a tremendous bite to it. I am very impressed considering I paid 80 bucks for the Snapon one. What a rip!

Traveling Charlie on YouTube.Traveling Charlie on YouTube.: I was debating between this one and the noncoiled OTC test light
1: I told myself 20 years ago I'd never buy anything coiled again because it usually pulls off you ground connection's too easy.
2: i found out that my coworker had a coiled test light so I borrowed it.
3: I noticed that the modern coil has flexible rubber vs the earlier ones and that it was longer.
4: I ordered this one because it is a Mini one vs the straight cord OTC.
5: when it arrived I decided to stretch it out overnight to make it even longer. You can see the midle of the coil vs both ends in the photo to get an idea of what it did.
6: I would recommend to a friend and im very satisfied.

Brett: This is my second OTC test light. I was so impressed with the quality of my normal size version that I came back to purchase this mini version as well and I am glad I did. Overall the OTC test lights are the nicest I've seen. The quality is much nicer than even my snap-on circuit tester which I purchased after my two OTC test lights. The snap-on costs roughly 5 times the price, and although it has the ability to be used as a normal test light with a ground/power indication, as well as a voltage tester, the overall quality is nowhere near as nice. I have barely used the snap-on and find myself reaching for the OTC nearly every time. It's hard to explain what makes them so nice, but as soon as you take it out of the box I'm sure you'll be impressed. The clamp, chord, plastic body, logo printing, light brightness, probe tip are all excellent. The brilliant part about the mini OTC is it's usefulness on more modern cars with fuse boxes in the glove box or any other tight space. It is considerably smaller than the normal version and is much more maneuverable in tight spaces.

Toby: I love this test light, especially in tight confines and in this day and age of led everything an incandescent bulb is very handy.
