D. Cooper: I grew up in the 80s/90s so my mornings before hopping on the bus were spent watching Mighty Morphin Power Rangers on my local affiliate. Loved watching giant robots kick over cardboard buildings and overacting karate moves. Most of all, I was wowed when the Green Ranger showed up and really loved the character. I had all the toys, etc. and although most of those were eventually given away or sold, I still maintain a small collection of Green Ranger items 30 years later...
I still frequent local comic shops, and periodically check out newer things and one day saw this TPB in the store and picked it up. I couldn't put it down. I recently purchased a copy and read it over the Christmas break. The "Shattered Grid" storyline is of an alternate universe Green Ranger who remained evil after the mind-control sword had been destroyed.
I really enjoyed this storyline, and I plan to read some of the other Boom Studio comics now that I've read both this and the "Rise of Drakkan" storyline which serves as a prequel.

TOM The Spaceknerd: Shattered Grid is simply the greatest Power Rangers story ever written, and it's the type of story that could only be done justice in the comic book medium. Thematically it lies somewhere between DC's Crisis on Infinite Earths (multi-versal shenanigans) and Marvel's Annihilation (Cosmic war against a seemingly unstoppable force), but remains wholly it's own thing.
The lost star is actually for this specific publication. It is the nearest you can get to the complete epic but it's missing the tie-in from Go Go Power Rangers and the 2018 annual. The Go Go issues in particular are important to the conclusion and I would recommend reading them first (TPB Vol. 3).
Additionally this series does not exist in isolation. There are a lot of references to previous arcs from the comic series. These are likely to be confusing to anyone coming into this cold. To add context here, I had read all the preceding issues of Go Go Power Rangers but not the main series, so there were references I got and other I didn't. But I found it wasn't too difficult for my brain to fill in the blanks with what information I WAS given.
When a full omnibus is released it will get five stars from...

RDD: “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Shattered Grid Deluxe Edition” collects “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers” nos. 24-30, “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Free Comic Book Day Special 2018,” “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers 2018 Annual” no. 1, “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Shattered Grid” no. 1, and “Go Go Power Rangers” nos. 9-12 written by Kyle Higgins and Ryan Parrott with art by Jonas Scharf, Daniele di Nicuolo, Dan Mora, and Diego Galindo and colors by Joana Lafuente, Walter Baiamonte, Raúl Angulo, and Marcelo Costa.
The story begins shortly after the events of the preceding volume, with the Rangers fighting Finster’s sleeper monsters and discovering Lord Drakkon, a version of Tommy from an alternate timeline, hidden in Grace Sterling’s Promethea compound. Drakkon escapes and the Rangers must decide what to do next. When they least expect it, Drakkon kills Tommy, thereby beginning the shattering of the timeline and creating several parallel universes for each Ranger team, even those that chronologically follow each other. For example, Tommy is still alive and leading the Zeo Rangers in their bubble of the timeline, even though that takes place...

Jonathan Buchanan: (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers = MMPR; Go Go Power Rangers = GGPR)
This is probably one of the best trade paperbacks Boom ever made for its Power Rangers line. I have a few quibbles, but they’re not enough to detract from how awesome this book is, collecting the entire MMPR Shattered Grid storyline (MMPR issues #25-30, plus the Shattered Grid finale issue and the 2018 Free Comic Book Day issue).
For starters is, of course, the story inside. It’s the Ranger melee we fans wish could be done on TV or a movie. That said, the actual fight only takes up a small part of the book (maybe a little too short, but enough to be satisfying). Where Shattered Grid (and, really, the MMPR and ESPECIALLY the GGPR comic series) really shines is the lead up to the fight, with the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers facing a tough crisis with Lord Drakkon amid a harsh event that affects both their normal and Ranger lives. I won’t say what, to avoid spoilers in case you’re just getting into the series, but it’s something I doubt you’d expect (I didn’t). I wasn’t a fan of the last issue at first, but it grew on me as a decent ending that wasn’t expected and gave our villain a...
