Edward: Really funny read after listening to the podcasts.

Lord Nitekon: Huge fan of the podcast. Listening to this group play gave me so much joy. And now to see it in full color and beautifully illustrated makes it so much more fun. I already own the other 2 volumes and can't wait to have the entire collection as they come out. If your a fan of the show and don't already have this you should own it.

Cat: Another fantastic outing for the franchise. Fans of the original podcast and those who have read the previous books will find this new book hilarious, while also slowly revealing more of this world's secrets.

Anyone who is fond of the McElroys or just fancies a fun twist on the fantasy genre will adore this book. I highly recommend it.

Brian Allen: As a fan of the Adventure Zone Podcast, I was excited to see this story put into comic form. The artists and writers have really gotten into the vibe and feeling that is so prevalent in the podcast, while still letting the visual medium shine.

If you have not listened to the podcast, or don't have time to, as it is long, this is a fantastic way to experience the silly and amazing adventures that the McElroy's go through, in a much more compact medium. I HIGHLY recommend this series.

PictoPirate: The Adventure Zone: Petals to the Metal is the latest and greatest instalment in the graphic novel adaptation of the superb podcast The Adventure Zone. Our heroes Merle, Taako and Magnus are thrust into the cutthroat world of battlewagon racing in order to retrieve another mysterious artifact. There's action, comedy, love and even an inspiring speech that gave me goosebumps.

Podcast fans willbe delighted to see some of their favourite characters for the first time including
Captain Captain Bane and Garyl the spectral binicorn and once again Carey Pietsch does an amazing job bringing these characters to life. The artwork is superb throughout and well worth the price of admission on its own.

The whole thing is fantastic but the Hurley and Sloane arc was presented better here than even in the podcast and really made the heart of everything TAZ shine through.

Bonus points for again including a section at the back of the book to showcase some of the amazing fan art developed by the TAZ community. There really are some wickedly talented folks out there.

Seven Birds: The first two books were amazing, and this one is even better.

Pietsch' art brings the characters and the story to life, and I was positively surprised by how many of the jokes and plot points were adapted directly from the podcast.

This graphic novel was a delight to read. The colors and the artstyle are beautiful, and the story flow and pacing made it very compelling.

In conclusion, this book is one of the best ways to experience this story.
Long time listeners will appreciate the foreshadowing and inside jokes, while it is still very accessible to new fans thanks to minor changes to the story and just the right amount of exposition.

5/5 stars!

Lietz Willi: I've been a fan for quite some time now and pre-ordered it accordingly.

Pietsch's illustration is as always incredibly vibrant and she manages to caption the chaos of the race without making it unable to be read. Her ability to translate an audio into a visual medium without sacrificing the beats (which McElroy comedy does depend on) is astounding. I particularly enjoyed the backstory of our racers, the race itself, and, of course, the final showdown.

While the writing excluded some parts of the podcasts arc, it did not at all lose any important parts of the plot (it's still a whopping 248 pages of pure story!). For older fans of the series, there's, as always, quite a few intertextual funny references, backhanded comments and inside jokes to other works in the series. While these made me chuckle a lot, newer fans won't be troubled by these at all, as their placement is well done and most of them work on a less "meta" level as well.

As previously mentioned, the ending is slightly changed, as to not fall into the same trope the podcast did. I understand anyone who is a little apprehensive regarding this move, but I can guarantee you, this version of the story...

Adam Weller: When I first heard that the podcast was being turned into a comic book, this was the act I was looking forward to most. (The Stolen Century is my other favorite, but that’s a couple years away.) I’m happy to report that seeing the battle race on paper was just as awesome as what I pictured in my head. What I didn’t expect was how well done the Hurley and Sloane relationship was presented. TAZ story has tugged on heartstrings in the past, but their story resonated more than the rest. When you add in Merle and the Director’s conversation about the human spirit, the especially sharp comedy, and all of the race and tower action, this is a chapter that is... wait for it... firing on all cylinders. Worth the wait, right?

Evans Budek: PTTM, in my opinion, is really when Griffin realizes where he wants to go with the whole campaign. It really begins to come together. The artistry is amazing, and Carey continues to knock it out of the park with her illustrations.
The dialogue- perfect, hilarious, and as always (especially when you’ve listened to the entire campaign) a little heart wrenching.
I wouldn’t say PTTM is my fave, but I still absolutely LOVE it.
Bravo to the McElBoys and Carey for being an amazing team and bringing this to paper!!
