Has this red thing your supposed to push to use (still haven't figured out how it works. When you pull it out it is covered in gas like most spouts, then you have to pudh on this red thing that is soaked in gas, so for the rest of the day you smell like gas. There is a red cap under the lid/cdp to seal it up when the sout is not in use. It is a seperate, small piece. Something that would be easy to lose in a dark emergency situation, or even just refilling your gas powered electric generator in the dark.

I used it for gas. My husband isn’t able to lift a larger can. I liked it because of the nozzle. Some of the cans these days you need more than 2 hands in order to hold the can and try to release the nozzle to let the gas out. This can is more like the cans from 20 years ago and not complicated with all the safety measures. Safety is good, but manufacturers have made them more complicated to use these days.

this is the best gas can i have ever had, however if the red cap is not on it when storing , think about it , when you purchase from who ever check out the can. with out the cap fumes will be escape, fumes are heaver than air, they hang around the floor and all it takes is any type of spark and then you have a problem. so when you call or advise the mfg. don't be surprised if they say well we sell this product to who ever. its their problem. now mind you for 1.50 they could mail you that little red cap this includes the price the envelope, the postage, and item. however all parts in place great safe tank. mfg. ????????
