Jim: I have a few health issues that makes pouring gas into a lawn mower and UTV a challenge. I read reviews about this gas can. One thing that kept coming up is the fact that gas expands and contracts like every other gas can on the market. I did some research and found the answer on Sure Can website. I did not want to take their word for it. So I looked into the regulations that apply to gas cans. What I found is this, the EPA had changed regulations that pertain to gas cans, which was in short. No vents or pressure regulators on gas cans. The expanding and contracting will occur on any plastic gas can, this is normal based on current regulations. Sure Can recommends if your can is collapsed, leave it in the sun for a minimum of 30 minutes. The gas can should return to it normal shape. Based on what I found, I ordered this gas can. When I received my gas can. I was very surprised, the Sure Can was heavier and felt thicker than the gas can I purchased from the a big box store. Filling my lawnmower and UTV was way easier to fill. No more bending over and pushing or twisting to get fuel flowing. My filler neck on my lawnmower is located on the rear of my lawnmower. I placed a paint can...

Dave P: Definitely one of my favorite purchases in quite a while. Have had it with the new "safety compliant" gas cans that require that you pull the nozzle out of storage inside the can and the twist part of it so that it can be pushed in to open the valve to dispense fuel... I COULD probably just leave the nozzle out on those, but it is still annoying. Not to mention the seals on those caps and nozzles aren't always the best. This eliminates ALL of that frustration. I've only filled and used this a handful of times, but I'm totally sold on it. Unscrew the nozzle cap (which seems a little like a medicine bottle cap that you have to push slightly), pull the nozzle out of it's storing clip that is built into the can, rotate down, push the locking tab with your thumb and push down the vent lever and BOOM, incumbered fuel flow. When you're close to done, release the vent, let the little bit of gas in the nozzle drain, bend the tip up, rotate the nozzle up into it's stowed position, put the nozzle cap on and you're done! Far easier to control gas flow with the thumb of the contained you're lifting (and don't have to tilt, by the way), than to twist a safety ring, tilt the can and push down on...

Leonard: I’m going to give this a solid 4 stars because I do like the concept and ease of getting into places so much easier than conventional gas cans. Less spill and less arm fatigue for anyone whom may struggle with back health.
The only pre-purchase concern I had given the higher pricetag of these cans was the durability. However now that I own a surecan, I do feel confident that these cans surecan last for years with proper care. My only real complaints are the fact that it is relatively slow pouring out, and the safety locking button that is on the release lever. Super inconvenient as I always have to use both hands to unlock the lever.
To conclude, I do own both the 2 gal and 5gal as I believe the downward spout accessibility to awkward fill locations is totally worth the minor complaints I’ve had.

CRod United: If you don't watch what you are doing, you can easily overfill and spill gas, when you release the trigger there is still gas in the tube

Mark: I really like this gas can since you don't have to get gas on your hands pulling a nozzle out of the can. Just aim the spout and push the button. Really well designed. I have both the larger and smaller versions and both work great.
I've had this for about 2-years now and recently the spout broke. Unfortunately there are no dealers in Canada who sell replacement spouts at a reasonable cost. Most who ship to Canada charge so much for shipping that it would be cheaper just to buy a new can.
