MEISON 1.5 L Electric Kettle - Double Wall, Food Grade Stainless Steel, Interior Water Boiler

Melanie: I got this for my partner as a christmas gift last year. He's really enjoyed it, and it can be used to make tea, coffee, ramen, tons of other food/drink items, and even cleaning (pouring boiling water down drains). The one catch is the rather suspect pattern that occurs at the bottom of the pitcher. I thinnkk it's from minerals or something--not mold/funk--but it doesn't wash away. It's difficult to even try washing it due to the lid of the pitcher being attached and unable to fully flip back. I assume that repeatedly boiling water would clean the stain if it was harmful.

Lisa : My last kettle lasted three years and I would have reordered but is no longer available. I just received this kettle and have used it once so this is just my first impression. The color is great and the exterior easy to clean, the interior 100% stainless with no plastic touching the water and it heats up fast. However, the button/lever to open the lid is super stiff and hard to press so I need to open it by the lid, it has half open and full open for cleaning but the full is not 90 degrees. The second drawback is that the electric cord is super heavy and stiff and not flexible and its pretty short so it knocks everything else around it over around it. If you want to pull the kettle out for use and push it back when not in use the cord is too heavy and stiff when fully unwrapped for my location but if I try to wrap the cord at the base to make it shorter it is way too short. So I am going to give it a try and see if the lid button gets easier with use and the cord softens up or I can get used to them otherwise I will have to return it.

LeonardoLeonardo: I have two kids and a husband to take care of in the morning as well as myself. Taking time to make the water on a stove was not convenient enough.

This is the first electric kettle I have bought and it is wonderful because it has the automatic shut off when the water is boiled and ready. Boiling from room temperature is really quick and I usually will set it to boil while I go brush my teeth and it will be done by the time I’m ready.

I was looking for a fully stainless steel interior. Without breaking the bank this was a very good option.

The interior and the top is stainless steel. There is a little hole where the lid attachment is that has a hole in the stainless steel at the top and if water goes into it it does touch plastic. However that is above the max level line and if you don’t overfill it and you don’t tilted the wrong way water would never touch that area.

The exterior is a very lightweight cheap plastic, but that is the exterior and does not come in contact with water so it does not matter to me. It’s probably how they were able to keep the price so cheap for this item.
