I also took it when we rented a cabin and it was great to have there too.
It is light weight, folds and goes into a bag.

Got a replacement kettle very quickly after the first one was defective in a couple of ways (see original review below). The replacement seems to be working and boils 0.6L of room temperature water in well under 5 minutes. I was also able to test this with a portable power station that can output 1200W and it handled the kettle fine. I’m not 100% of the accuracy but the power station showed it using 850W not 700W and seemed to use just under 60Wh per boil.

There was still a faint chemical smell after a few boils from the kettle itself although the water did not smell of much after being poured into another container. Between this and concerns over durability I have raised my rating but not by much. Hopefully it will still be useful during power outages and camping.

David Delp: It works great. I saw a couple of negative reviews about a plastic taste. Believe me, I’m pretty sensitive in my taste and smell and while you can smell the plastic when it is new, that wears off. I boiled a couple of pots of water to clean it before using it and in my opinion there is no residual or plastic taste, it is perfectly fine. There seems to always be the one or two negative reviews that nitpick and look for a problem when one doesn’t exist and I am glad I did not let it dissuade me from purchasing a great product.

LJA0123: I purchased this to be able to make my hot tea while traveling. It folds up nicely and doesn't take up much space which is nice. It boils water quickly, but it doesn't hold much more than 1 mug of water for my tea. While the unit "shuts off" when its done boiling, you have to remember to flip off the switch manually &/or unplug the unit. 24 hours later I went to put up the kettle and it was hot! I had not flipped the switch OR unplugged it (my fault), but I was worried I'd ruined it. I don't think I did thankfully. But keep that in mind!
