Nicholas J. Rose: The actual product does what it should, but the bad package design lets it down.
The outlet hole is too small, so it easily clogs up, and has to be cleared with a screwdriver to get the product out.

tj2k: I use this firestarter gel to start pellets burning in the A-Maze-N smoker tray I use in my BBQ
https://www.amazon.com/A-MAZE-N-AMNPS5X8-Pellet-Smoker/dp/B007ROPJ1M
Works great, a small dollop of the gel is all it takes to get the pellets smoldering properly...if you want easy smoke in your BBQ, it's a winning combination.
After about a year, I finally ran out and ordered a new jug of the gel. To say it was "different" is an understatement. Instead of a "gel" this time it's more of a thick liquid. Very runny and not gel like at all. still seems to work ok though.

Chelsea: My husband and I recently installed a pellet stove in our home after years of having a wood stove. Years of me fighting with tinder and flames and taking forever to get a good temperature established in our home. I didn't even know "Gel Firestarter" existed until we put our pellet stove in. I am glad I do now!
Meeco's Red Devil Gel Firestarter is awesome! A little tiny bit goes a long ways. It lights instantly, has very minimal smell, and holds a strong flame. I can get our pellet stove up and going in under 5 minutes with this firestarter. No more trudging through the snow to get wood and split kindling!
This is a 32 oz bottle and it will take you a long ways. The first bottle we had was only about 15 oz and it took us over a month to use it, and that was before we realized that we were using way more than needed. This bottle can get you at least a couple months even using every day.

~ shopsalot ~: We originally purchased Meeco's Red Devil 432 Gel Firestarter to work with our pellet stove. I must say, it is a great improvement over Meeco's Red Devil 431 and 431b. First of all, it doesn't have the rotten egg smell of the 431b nor the harsh salty flavor and stale aftertaste of the 431. Like people once said about "New Coke," nothing is better than the original... but in the case of Meeco's Red Devil 432 Gel Firestarter, they would be wrong. The 432 is so much better than the 001 version. Perhaps even 432 times better. In fact, it works so well that we are in the process of renovating our entire house to install a pellet stove in every room, even the loo! I cannot recommend this product more highly.
