Regal Flame 12 Quart Premium Ventless Bio Ethanol Fireplace Fuel

Laurie: I use this fuel in my wall mounted and table top fire boxes. Burns cleanly. The only small drawback is due to the pressure build up in the bottles, a little sprays out on my hand every time I open a new one. I now use a rag to cover the top when opening.

This table top firebox is what I use out on my deck because the wind is so strong it blows out anything else. I actually have to turn it side ways because the wind is so strong most of the time. It takes about 1/3 of the bottle this size fuel and burns for about 2 hrs. This is such a nice addition to my deck and people always comment on it! JimJ: I have had every type of fireplace, and they are all costly, unless you chop your own wood, the money saved is in your lost time. This is essentially an alcohol used as a cleaning product, only more filtered. If you have ever used alcohol, nothing should be a suprise, but many of these reviews read as if nobody has ever cleaned a wound or stripped a floor with it. Yes, there is going to be an alcohol smell, because that's what it is. It is comparable to the same smell of cooking on a gas stove. I light a nice candle in the corner before starting the fire in the house and no distinctive odor. It gives off no more heat than a gas burner on a stove, but gives a cozy feel. Some people say it is pricey, but for the flame size, and overall burn time, it is exactly the same price of propane. As I said, this is really an abrasive cleaner, so be sure not to spill it on any finished wood. The burn time for me is about 3 hrs a bottle for a deacent size flame. Just like propane, it starts off blue, and within minutes a bright natural orange glow. This is the best product out there with minimal work at all. Joshua Steele: Doesn't open or pour well. The clear plastic layer (last layer to pour) is so slim you wouldn't believe it could be so difficult to open! Fingernails: splashes everywhere, including eyes if you don't know to turn your head. And the fuel gets some real distance that way! You can easily cover your hand or any surface nearby with splashes. Use a knife, same problem if you are making a slot so small it does not work at all. Cut sideways...careful for your fingers! Knife safety at its highest need! Try stabbing holes effective enough to pour, same problem. And splash! Better wear goggles! Plus, that damned sliver of plastic will still keep covering the holes when you replace the pour spout! There REALLY needs to be a tab on that sliver of plastic! Or just a better way to open the bottle entirely. I had an easier time opening bottles of sulfuric acid in college!

That all said, it pours like a drunken friend handing out tequila shots. Too big a bottle with an unbelievable amount of flexibility in the sides, it sloshes out everywhere (unless you've been a wizard removing the film barrier), then inevitably flowes down the sides of the bottle to drop everywhere. *****ONLY ISSUE - When you peel the cover off after unscrewing the cap, it almost always sprays out onto your hand or whatever else. This is something that would be particularly unpleasant if you have any cuts on your hands. You'll also want to keep it away from your face or any pets when opening the bottle.*****

The bottle is brilliant. It has a screen on the top that you'd get like in the top of a liquor bottle. Keeps it from pouring out too fast. The problem I have with this fuel is that it's like it's less potent. Unless you burn all of it it seems to evaporate almost immediately. I went this much faster than I did with ignis fuel. It also didn't ignite as easily and took much longer to build the flame up.

I won't be purchasing this product again

T. SwainT. Swain: This is a great deal. This is my 2nd purchase of Moda Flame Bio Ethanol Fuel. We have two indoor bio-fuel fireplaces and three outdoor bio-fuel fireplaces. The largest indoor bio-fuel fireplace we own is 64 inches and has 4 separate fuel troths s for fuel. They are rather deep and wide so it takes about 3/4 of a can for each of the troths. The outdoor bio-fuel fireplaces are round and not as deep so a 1/2 can of fuel is needed for each of the two troths on that fireplace. The flames typically lasted us approx. 2 hours. After using this fuel numerous times in different bio-fuel fireplaces, I feel that if you fill the troth up to the recommended capacity point, the longer the flames will last. This fuel is the cheapest by far that I have found anywhere. I've paid almost double this price for a 12 pack before I found it on Amazon. The flame is very realistic and has great height when you fill up the troth. Oh, shipping is also fast. Other places have taken two weeks but since I am prime, I got this fuel right away. I am very happy with this purchase and highly recommend you buying it. Feel free to ask me any questions. I posted pics of some of the fireplaces that I used the fuel with.
