David H: Picked this up since the other one I have is so old, it uses the old 30-pin Apple connector to charge.
This has a simple air hose that snugs right into a port on the side and a cuff that you cinch up around your arm. Not the hardest things to figure out.
Exactly where to orient the cuff/hose combo isn’t exactly clear, but I’ve opted for aligning it with a line down the inside of my arm to my thumb. That seems as close to what their little pictograph suggests.
You hit one button, and it makes a reading. Done.
Now, it would be NICE if you could set it to do 3 measurements in series with a single button push with say 1min delay between cuff inflations, but I didn’t go for the top of the line device.
When you press the button after a measurement, the device powers off. Press the button once again, and it powers on and then stuffs the cuff to get a reading.
How accurate it measures is yet to be determined. As I don’t have a gold standard unit against which to compare, I’ll need to wait until I need to go see the doc, and then I can bring the little beastie in his bag with me, and we can play dueling BP devices to see how close they...
