It seems to be sturdy enough to carry 2 bikes. It's rated at 75 lbs maximum as mentioned in the owners guide. The hitch receiver part of the rack is not snug and the bike rack moves a bit from side to side. Supplied U bolt and bracket to make it more stable will not fit my hitch receiver. Bringing a bike on it this evening - will update review after testing with one bike.
**UPDATE**
Used to carry a large framed 29" wheeled mtb, bike was stable on the rack for the 10-20 km drive. There was a slight rack/bike wobble when driving but as mentioned in reviews first part, the fitment of the parts has some play.
Overall, I like the bike rack and I will eventually test it using 2 bikes.
Pros
Price point is great for what you get.
Bike is secure to rack and does not move freely in wheel cradles when driving.
Rack itself seems to be sturdy - time will tell for durability after several trips with it.
Cons
Parts are not tight together when assembled and causes rack and bike to wobble a bit when driving.
No bike locking option - very easy to remove bike from rack if unattended.

Neil Walker: The Maxx Haul twin bike rack is fantastic. It’s east to assemble & once you’ve set it up for your bike/s there’s nothing else to do! It can be partially disassemble to store So it’s not as bulky But overall an awesome product!

You can't beat this price for an entry level tow hitch bike rack. Value for money. Works as advertised. Rack was surprisingly stable even at high speed (up to 100km/hr on motorway). Didn't get to drive off road with this.
Would advise to add anti-vibration clamp and tow lock.
Taking 1 star away as the included tow pin was poorly machined and too short and thick for my tow hitch. Had to manual grind it to get it to fit. The other tow lock I bought separately had no issues at all.
Relatively light weight, easy to assemble and disassemble (approx 3-5mins). Does well for its intended purpose. Would recommend to other potential buyers.

Got this rack delivered in 2 days with Prime. The lock pins were kinda different from the instruction sheet, & some were smaller in diameter than the holes. Some wobbling & balancing I did not like on the road with 2 bikes in. As other reviewers suggested, I replaced both left and right quick removal pins by quality bolts (tight fit in the holes) and nylon locking nuts for safety (less than $5.00). I did not care to make it "permanent" as I have plenty of room for storage.
At the mean time while I was there with a ratchet I tightened the center bolt that holds the vertical post (It was kind of loose). Now everything is tight, sturdy and solid, love this rack that costs a fraction of a Thule!

It's $89, what do you expect? Well, I expected to get a poorly constructed, difficult to use, throw away piece of hardware that might get my walmart bikes to and from the campground. I've owned products from Thule and Yakima, and this certainly doesn't hold a match to the build quality of those big names. But it's $89. I expected $45 of cheap hardware and flimsy square stock.
What I actually got was a decent piece of equipment that I am confident will last several years. Easy to assemble, easy to adjust, and easy to dismantle and store. Quality self-retaining through pins at every junction, more than enough horizontal and vertical adjustment to accommodate my 29er MTB and my wife's 26er (perfectly balanced, btw), and strong knurled knobs to cinch everything down. The rubber wheel straps are simply peace of mind, these bikes aren't moving. Need to get in the back of the Tahoe? Pull the pin and lay the bikes down. Is it easy? Not really, but it's not hard either. Oh, and it's $89. Throw in the bolt on, anti-wobble square bolt and 1/4 inch steel plate that doubles as a free theft deterrent? Yeah, I'm more than pleased.
Got $7k worth of specialized...

I've used a home-made rack for 20 years but it required removing the front bike tire, which has become a chore.
So I looked at the myriads of racks which don't require removing a tire, from $ to $$$$. The high-buck racks were WAY out of my pocketbook range so I concentrated on the low-end racks and decided to give this one a shot, and I'm quite happy with it. Sure it isn't perfect but with a bit of mods it suits my needs very well.

When I was removing my bike after a 10 mile drive I almost burned my hand when I bumped up against the metal rail, which is when I realized the rack was just above being in-line with the exhaust. Back home after the ride I checked the temperature of...

Dan Tenge: I was looking for a bike carrier to take a couple mountain bikes across the country and after reading the reviews I chose this one. I didn’t disappoint me, structurally it’s great. One complaint I see people had was about it seemed sloppy once put together, if you do have any movement in the hung joint add a washer between the two frame pieces and tighten down. Hopefully the mfg seems this and adds the washer with the unit or tighten ups the area. Love the fact that you can swing the unit down and open a pick up tail gate with out the two making contact ( with inner bike removed). I would buy again.
