Sticks fine in the plastic bucket you see in the video and picture, so I know it will stick find in the aquarium when I get ready to use them. I know the results will be a bit different in the 20 gallon aquarium compared with this little one gallon bucket. But this thermometer matched temps with the other 2 nonetheless, so I will have confidence with it in my aquarium.

I have one of those all-in-one aquariums, the kind with the digital thermometer... yeah, those don't last longer than a month. I also have the strip kind that adheres to the outside of the aquarium, those aren't always accurate. So I went back to what I know, and these old school thermometers actually work! They work inside the tank, accurately temping the water, and they're consistent. I should've just ordered this to begin with, but thought I'd try out the digital. Lesson learned. This thermometer was super easy to install; the suction cup stays securely in place on the glass of the aquarium, so much so that I actually had a difficult time removing it to readjust it's placement. It doesn't move, it's very secure! And it's a glass thermometer so you don't want it moving. The clip attached to the suction cup that holds the glass thermometer is just as strong, it comes assembled in the package and I tried to slide it up a notch and it wouldn't budge, which is good! It's very accurate too, which is the most important part. The line is a little difficult to see for me, but my eyesight isn't great so I just use my cell phone's camera to enhance it enough to read it....

Don't do digital, BUY THIS! Digital thermometers become inaccurate over time, and most can't be recalibrated again. It's very stressful for me and my fish not having correct water temperatures. I'm SO HAPPY with this one though. Just HANDLE WITH CARE since it is thin glass, but because of that, you get highly accurate readings. One other down side is you need to take a few extra seconds to read the temperature. However, stop reading this review and buy it already!

I've had this thermometer in my tank for about a month now and so far it has been great! I haven't had any issues with the suction cup and it adjusts quickly, is accurate to temperature, and is easier to read than some other thermometers out there. Just be gentle with it. Like many glass thermometers it is pretty fragile, but this is generally by design. The thin glass allows for accurate and quick readings which can mean the life or death of your fish if your heater goes haywire. If you're willing to keep in mind the fragile nature of the glass then this thermometer is the one for you!
