Sam ChapSam Chap: I have a 10 gallon betta tank that I need to keep tabs on the temperature. In the past I have tried the regular thermometers that stick to the side, those suck because after a while they no longer stick and just wind up floating around your tank plus they are hard to hide and an eyesore. I've also tried the sticker thermometers but those lose their accuracy and I do not trust them plus those also do not look great.

I ordered this one because I have never tried this kind before and honestly I will never have another type of thermometer. It sinks right to the bottom and stays wherever you put it. I was able to hide mine behind a pot I had inside the fish tank so that I can still read the temperature from the side but from the front view of the tank you cannot see it.

Plus I will add that it has been very accurate so far and I also like that the ideal temperature for most fish is highlighted in green. For $2 in change this is a must have for fish tank enthusiasts you won't be disappointed.

Amazon Customer: I bought this for my turtle tank and the price was great, fast delivery and I think it gives a pretty accurate reading (will truly find out when my other one shows up). What I don’t like is that it is really small so imagine trying to read numbers on this tiny thing while it’s in water. It stands upright and not attached to anything, anything happens to swim by or bump, you then need to fix the way it’s facing. with a temp view on only one side if it is turned slightly or turns all the way around you can read the temp at all. Not beneficial if you want to check the temp without putting your hands in the water daily

Leyla M: Bought it because I wanted a free standing thermometer for our tiny fish tank and it was a bonus that it was inexpensive. You get what you paid for since it only worked for 3 1/2 weeks before picking it up from the tank and it broke. Simply lifted it out of the tank and the bottom fell off and all of the little silver metal balls fell to the bottom of the tank. Thankfully the fish was out while we were getting ready to clean it. Almost impossible to sift out the little balls out of the rocks…what a mess! Was hard to read anyway…not worth two cents if you ask me!

Belldandy: These won't survive lower temperatures. At 15° C it cracked, slowly leaking the red dyed alcohol into my tank ( lower temperatures required for an axolotl ). This was used previously in a 24°C guppy tank with no issue. I had another that did the same thing at 8°C, in an axolotl fridging box. Very upsetting, if your water isn't sitting at typical 24°C I would skip this product.
