MicheleMichele: This book was rented yesterday I just got it today for my art class ,my bookstore ran out due to an overflow of kids. It arrived with the binding and the cover ripped up and one pg ripped out completely and hanging loose in the book, was to be expected from a rental though. It otherwise should be able to serve it's purpose for the semester.

Amazon Customer: This book was a great price, and I love that I was able to rent it. The book came quickly, The only downside is that the book already had slight water damage on the bottom of all the pages. Although it does not prevent the turning of pages, reading of the words, or overall usage of the book it mostly effects the appearance. There are no highlights or notes in the book, and there are no missing pages either!

joseph cumo: If only I had this text as I visited the museums and galleries I would have been so much more impressed, informed and humbled by the masterpieces I had the great good fortune to see first hand. This text is important to teach the art works' place in history and and the stories they tell.

GT: See title. It works. I had to rent it for a class and the textbook came in serviceable condition. I do frequently notice typos in the glossary which is a bit annoying, and to be frank, the condition of the book could be better (it isn't in terrible condition, but you can definitely tell it's used), but it works perfectly fine for what it is intended for.
In terms of the actual content, although it is overall fairly informative, I find it a little annoying how it goes on and on about European Renaissance/Baroque/etc art and pretty much just continually praises the art without really adding anything to my technical understanding of the material. It adds a huge amount of wordcount to each section but the actual information in each paragraph could be expressed considerably more concisely. I also find it a little bizarre how long most of the European art chapters are compared to every single other geographic region in the book (which are laughably short by comparison), but that issue really doesn't begin or end with this book. It is what it is and it's the text required for my course.
