Ellie Scothern: I am seriously loving this series, the characters, the plot, the storyline in its totality, as a middle aged wombat, who doesn't see herself as such, I hasten to add, I absolutely love the fact that the main character is a peer and find I am extremely excited to read the rest of the series!!!

DeAnna Meyer: I am so tired of fantasy novels that circle around teenagers or young women. This is the first series I have found that circles around a 40 something woman who has wrinkles and sags and feels invisible and unsure what to do next. I am on the fourth book and currently loving the thunderbird and the phoenix!

Sianny banany: FINALLY! It only took four books for Jess and Austin to finally give into their feelings for one another.
I mean what else will give you a kick up the butt to grab life (and the man you’re lusting after) by the balls and say “sod it, what are we waiting for” like an impending battle? War always gives people the horn.
A lot of new characters in this book. Some friendly, some less so, some downright awful.
There is a big old plot twist at the end that I was not expecting. I thought something was amiss but…not that. And I don’t understand where we’re going with this now but I’m sure all will be revealed in time.
Question: does anyone else picture Granny from the Tweetie Bird cartoons for Niamh? That’s who I see, but I hear Mrs Brown from Mrs Brown’s Boys 🤣 #iykyk

LA Hill: This is part of an absolutely fabulous series that makes me laugh out loud! It's got great stories, action, humor, and a nice bit of romance. I fell in love with the characters in the very first book. The dialogue is so snarky and funny and honest that I can't stop reading until the last page. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Alex M: Well that was a helluva long exposition.
Now that we know the key players in the story, it’s time to face off with the mage who keeps taunting our lead.
The ones who answered the summons were all interesting and eccentric people. I wish we saw a whole lot more of the new arrivals but I hope they have some more scenes in the next book.
I love that the worries of a woman in her midlife was crushing that “crisis” with such grace and wit and strength. Her concerns and beliefs now that she’s older are relatable and they add to her charm as a main character.
Jessie is clearly overpowered (OP), and while the book has stopped showing us her training sessions for the most part, we know she’s deserving of that OP status. Heck even Austin is OP.
Can’t wait to lose more sleep trying to finish this series😂

Vanessa Johnston: The characters in this book are relatable and heartwarming with just enough visciousness and romance sprinkled in to bind them.

jacq: Two new members have joined the Council but there are still more seats to be filled to protect Jessie and Ivy House.
Austin is struggling to keep the distance between him & Jessie and if she’s honest, so is Jessie.
Austin’s brother visits to help the team strengthen the pack in O’Briens
We meet a tame Mage, a Phoenix and. thunderbird. Everyone’s favourite ragtag crew continue to provide the laughs and my favourite Bigfoot impersonator pops in now and again - love him!
FINALLY we see some action and thankfully it’s not from Niamh 😂

Precise Disarray: I am up to date with the story, and really enjoyed everything I read. I dont rehash what I read (not a book report here), but just my overall impression. Fun thing about reading, what we choose and enjoy is highly subjective. Something you love, I may fine stupid. Something I love you may not be able to handle. Whatever. Give something a try and move on.
The Levelling Up series was not something I expected to like. I had learned of this book on a random FB sponsored ad. I dont recall what drew me to it, but let me tell you none of this is my typical genre to read from. I think it was the appeal of reading of a character in her 40s. I'm in my 40s. Nice to see the main star to be someone outside the typical 20 something. Figured I'd give it a go, and if I didnt like it I have the option to stop, yes?
The first chapter was meh. Though, I tend to be a little snarfy when I first begin a new book. Takes a little to get into it. But then once it started rolling, I was so very much hooked. I think once I realized that the writer can write, can flesh out detail, can give life to not only main characters, but give a lot to side characters, and I can imagine the surroundings so...

R: **MINOR SPOILERS**
This book is book 4 of the Leveling Up series. I do not recommend reading it as a standalone as the series is tied together. This book was better than the last one.
Jess is a great character and one that is facing a new and unusual responsibility with a lot of heart and poise. She is loyal and brave. I liked her and rooted for her. I did think she was a little impulsive and that she needs to learn to control her emotions and think strategically. She is very powerful magically and has the loyalty of many. It is a great responsibility and I think she could be an even better leader if she stepped into the role a bit more. Fortunately, she had Austin and his brother to help her.
Austin, another main character, is absolutely great. I like how supportive he is of Jess. During this book, they are well on the way to accepting the mate bond between them and the words he uses to talk about it are very open, supportive, and loving. His brother visits during the book and they resolve the issues of the past between them. I liked their relationship and they were mutually good for each other, though Kingston had something to forgive and he did so lovingly. I think he...

Jill jennings: It’s been a long time since a series has kept me this engaged and entertained and made me laugh this much .
I am so hooked it’s hard to put the book down and do ‘life’ . Which is also awkward at times when I’m standings in the kitchen reading while I cook and burst into a fit of giggles and have my family ask what’s so funny.. how do I explain why it’s funny that a mage is clumsy and it’s funny or something that the characters said is hilarious if you know them but when I read it to them they look at you like what ?? Haha guess that’s amusing in itself .
I loved the growing romance between Austin and Jess in this one! Loved the curious case of Sebastian , and feeling immersed in the world of ivy house .
Can’t wait to read the next one ! )But I’m already scared to reach number 8 as I know that’s not yet the end haha )
