Di: This is the fourth outdoor floodlight we have installed, and we finally got it right! We wanted an outdoor floodlight that would be both a motion sensor as we walk in our house from the garage, and be able to be in a “constant on“ position for parties. This is the first one we tried, that worked perfectly for both. We were able to put in our own LED bulbs, which is a nice feature, and then you can choose the amount of illumination that you want. Bob M.: Used this to replace a similar motion spotlight that had failed. The old spotlights motion sensors plastic window had become brittle and cracked. Likely as it was mounted on the side of the garage and is not under an eve to protect it from the sun and rain.
The new one now has a plastic housing rather than metal, so it may fade and crack if mounted in an area where it gets a lot of sun. Will see how long this one holds up.
