Darrel Lee Otterstein: I was hoping this would be something I could use with my two 6 and 10 year old baseball loving grandsons, but unfortunately it is not something I am able to play with them. I have arthritis in both hands and find it is too hard to use. Adjusting the speed is impossible for me to do because it takes a lot of strength. That being said I think it would be perfect for someone without the affliction that I have in my hands.
I wouldn’t discourage anyone from buying it , unfortunately I can’t use it.

Hunneysue: It works ok... Not very strong. I believe it advertised it could reach simulated pitches of 50mph, but not so much. I hoped to use it for fly ball training (I'm too old to be throwing tons of high balls or hitting a bunch of hand tossed balls to the outfield), but it isn't really strong enough to be effective with a standard little league hardball. At say a 45 degree angle it only launched the ball about 25 feet high and maybe 45 feet in distance. So yeah it works, just not great. Perhaps mine is defective, though it's a pretty straight forward system that seems like it would work or not at all. Just an FYI - it seems to actually work a little better with a softball.

Bruiser55: tosses the balls provided with it but will not throw a real baseball

KL16: Hard to use, you need an extra hand, not very accurate

Zelkien69: I purchased this to be able to throw fast, accurate, and consistent pitches to my 4 year old son. The device kind of works like it's supposed to, but is difficult to use in a convenient pattern because of the somewhat violent end of the actuation. This thing flings Juggs LiteFlite balls so violently you have to completely re aim each throw.
The device would work significantly better if it had a front handle to stabilize the throw. As a. Pitching machine I cannot recommend it, but for field work it is fantastic.in saving your arm and shoulder.

Mykel: gives me a blister when we use it from where the back rests between my thumb and forefingers, and it jumps when you release, so after a few shots that spot it jumps against gets really sore. also almost broke my nose the first time i used it...handle with care...i won't let my kids use it because the spring loaded arm is no joke when it hits you in the face. my fault, I was holding it a stupid way.
it does throw the ball pretty well when you're using it properly, i just have to wear a glove or something to keep it from tearing up my hand

LarryLarry: This will be great to use when we get outside and get my wife to start catching. Tried it out and works good.

Paul W: I was a little skeptical of this contraption at first, given what other reviews have said about the floor mounted UPM machines and the need to mount them very firmly to ensure accuracy - I figured how could my shaky aim ever come close to a floor mounted system? Well so far I've been pleasantly surprised as this is a great fielding/pitching machine, just don't expect it to pitch real baseballs or softballs fast - the instructions estimate around 30mph for real balls and that seems about correct. Where this pitching machine excels is with the Jugs Lite-Flite balls (I've tried both baseball and softball versions) these are lighter than the two high density foam balls which the machine comes with and in my hands have been a lot more accurate. It can pitch rapid 60 (ish) mph strikes from ~45 feet with these balls very consistently with is plenty fast enough for little leaguers. I've also tried with wiffle balls, but the optimum pitching ball is definitely the lite-flite's in terms of accuracy. Machine is light (body is ABS plastic) and appears well make. Needs a little bit of effort to set the speed, but the pitching arm itself is relatively easy to draw back - although I wouldn't let...

Benoît Beckers: Excellent pour le prix, demande un peu de pratique mais une fois maitrisé ça permet d’avoir une vitesse de lancer régulière pour que les jeunes ajustes leur vue sur la balle
