Amazon Customer: It’s really not worth it to go for the super cheap clamps that are under $20. Good clamps will keep you (and your surroundings) safe and last forever. These are an excellent value buy. They’ve worked great for me.

Artem RussakovskiiArtem Russakovskii: Today, I'm comparing 3 popular olympic barbell clamps. I purchased all of them from Amazon:
- Bear Grips ($9.99)
- Clout Fitness ($15.95)
- Lock-Jaw ($32.99)
As you can see, the price points are quite different, but is more expensive necessarily better?
The first clamp I got was the Bear Grips. It is easy to lock, but unlocking, especially with one hand, is annoying and sometimes painfully slaps my fingers. There's a little push button which needs to be pressed for unlocking to occur. The hold on the bar is nice and tight when locked. This clamp is close to perfect, especially at the low price of $9.99, but ultimately I didn't want to be annoyed every time I needed to change weights.
The Lock-Jaw and Clout Fitness clamps arrived at the same time, and I immediately knew which one I would keep.
The Lock-Jaw, the most expensive of the three, at over 3x the cost of the Bear Grips ($32.99), is very tight to lock, close to impossible with one hand. Perhaps it'll loosen over time, but right now, it's a no-go. I do like that it doesn't have a push button to unlock, but unlocking is also too tight, and the force of it opening snaps my fingers if I'm not...

David Thompson: These collars are easy to lock and unlock. They seem a little more secure than spring clips/locks. They don't lock incredibly tightly, but the rubber/plastic inner sleeve/pad allows them to grip pretty well. So far they don't slip after locking, both on older US made bars and newer cheap import bars.

NorkDorf EntertainmentNorkDorf Entertainment: The Lock-Jaw OLY 2 Olympic Barbell Collar in sleek black is a game-changer for keeping your weights securely in place. With their reliable design and user-friendly features, these collars are a must-have for any serious weightlifter.
One of the standout qualities of the Lock-Jaw OLY 2 collars is their ease of use. Opening and closing them is a breeze, allowing for quick transitions between plates without wasting valuable training time. However, it's important to exercise caution when handling them to avoid the risk of pinching your fingers.
Having experienced the frustration of using metal collars that failed to hold weights in place, I was skeptical about finding a reliable solution. However, the Lock-Jaw collars have exceeded my expectations in every way. Their robust construction and secure grip provide me with the confidence I need during intense lifting sessions.
Unlike their counterparts, the Lock-Jaw collars have never let me down. They hold the weights firmly in place, ensuring stability and safety throughout my workouts. I can focus on pushing my limits with no concerns about plates shifting or becoming loose.
In terms of design, the Lock-Jaw...
