It records my HR using the Polar Beat app. Does the Polar Beat app work well with the Livlov v9? Well, the app does not record any distances traveled when paired. The HR function works and records fine, but it is not a perfect solution. I tried using the HR sensor at my gym with the Precor treadmill. They did not work together. This is disappointing. The HR display did work on the treadmill if I gripped the sensors on the equipment, so this HR strap does not work with the Precor. I like the sensor, but it is not as useful to me as I would like. I should have spent more and bought a HR sensor that has its own app. Livlov has been very responsive to me with customer support and offering assistance, unfortunately this is not the best product for me. It might be right for you.

fireguy286: Edit: customer service reached out after review and sent a new unit. The new one seems to work perfectly. The arm band is still slightly small for me to reach around my arm but I’m more than happy with the new unit and have found the forearm to be a comfortable place to eat the strap anyways.
I want to like this because I think it’s far more accurate than the Garmin wrist sensor on my watch. Easy enough to set up but connected it to my concept 2 rowing machine and the heart rate would drop every 2 minutes then reconnect and build back up to the proper rate. Also, I charged it when I first got it, used it for a 30 minute workout, then an hour row, and it would not turn on the next day so I recharged it. One last thing, I am a pretty big guy, 6’4”, 255 pounds, but not a bodybuilder physique, more just fit. The arm band will barely go around my forearm, never mind my bicep, not even close to big enough. I want to like it just too many issues.

A.P.: I bought the V9 to replace my very old Garmin HRM. It pairs easily with the iPhone and, more important for me, with the Concept2 PM5.
Good battery life and, yes, you do need to find a stable position for the magnetic charger. Also, for rowing, it feels more comfortable and requires less adjustments than the chest strap.
The heart rate seems pretty accurate but I noticed on the workout chart some very brief drops (e.g. 140 to 120bpm) every 2 minutes or so. Overall I am happy with the performance.

Amazon Customer: I needed a heart rate monitor that was compatible with my BKOOL bike simulator. This immediately paired with my Windows program as well as an Android APP. The wrist band is more comfortable than the traditional chest sensor and seems to work much better. I like the rechargeable USB feature, so never need to worry about battery life. The LED sensors give the exact connection status and the state of the battery.

lipsterman: I have had issues with chest heart rate monitors (HRM) for years. For me, they seem to drop out or read inaccurately. This has happened a number of times with chest HRM's over the years and it didn't matter if it was a cheap or expensive HRM. The last HRM I had got so frustrating that I stopped wearing any HRM during workouts because I knew it wouldn't read correctly. After one year without a HRM, I thought of giving a new HRM a try.
I bought the LIVLOV V9 HRM because:
A. It was inexpensive
B. It was an arm and not a chest HRM
C. It could be recharged (no battery to deal with)
I've never owned an arm HRM so I wanted to see if it would work. I charged the HRM up using the charging adapter that came with the HRM. After that, I synched the HRM to my Wahoo Elemnt Bolt bicycle computer (simple with no issues). I set the arm band as instructed (secure but not too tight). Once the arm band was set, I removed it without loosening the strap. I went on my first bike ride and got a good sweat going. The wrist band never loosened (I barely noticed it on my arm) and the HRM read accurately with no drop outs.
So far, this is an excellent product.

Bree: Update: The seller contacted me and offered a replacement. I appreciate the prompt customer service and hope the new one works out well! I’m changing my review to 4 stars and will reevaluate when the new one comes.
I bought this HR monitor 6 months ago to pair with my Peloton. It was easy to connect it to my bike and tread, however I never could get signed up for an account on the app. It quit working last week - just under 6 months since I purchased. It connects still, but doesn’t register my heart rate. I’ve tried charging it, turning off and on, wetting the area it’s connecting to, drying the area it’s connecting to… frustrating.

Michael m.: The only negative thing I would say is that the recharging design is weak.
The cable is magnetic and not very strong, so comes off easily if you are not paying attention and will not charge.
Not a deal breaker once you are aware but they need to make the magnet stronger if they stick with this design in the next version.

Craig_LA_Calif49er: I have been using LIVLOV V9 pretty much every day for more than 3 months. So far I am very happy with my purchase.
I have only used Bluetooth (have not tried Ant+).
Bluetooth connection worked immediately and have had no issues at all.
Apps used: Both Polar Beat and Wahoo work fine (connect via Bluetooth from within the apps).
Accuracy: seems good based on my checking by counting my pulse.
No issues with connections and performance.
I had a problem with the first device holding a charge: sometimes it did not hold the charge well (I had to charge after a few days instead of a couple of weeks). There was another issue that I did not notice: the pattern and information given by the lights.
I contacted customer service, describing the charging issue, and they responded (within a few hours) that there was a chip problem. They sent a replacement which arrived within a few days.
The replacement has performed well in every way: now I have all the correct color light signals as well as accurate heart rate and solid Bluetooth performance.

Paul H: First: customer support. I had an issue with the first unit and left an appropriately negative review. LIVLOV customer support contacted me via email and went to great lengths to resolve any issues. My interaction with LIVLOV customer support rates as one of the top 5 responses I've ever encountered, regardless of the type of product. Certainly 5 stars or more.
The first unit would not pair via Bluetooth with any of the three fitness apps I tried on several different phones. It also did not work with any of several ANT+ units. I did work with the PC, but I set the sensor almost on top of the bluetooth adapter so the range was just a couple of inches. I suspect a defective antenna. I returned the unit. Then, the excellent customer support resulted in a second unit.
The second unit worked fine via Bluetooth immediately. However, I was unable to get it to pair with any ANT+ device. The main issue was user error inspired by less than clear instructions, but mostly just user error. After following the correct instructions the unit paired with a Garmin Edge 705, Garmin Edge 305, a Garmin Edge 530 , and a Wahoo Elemnt Bolt. I have not been able to get it to pair with an...
