Yellowsandydog: I've been very impressed with the way this umbrella has coped with the strong winds around here, though of course I wouldn't use it in a raging gale. It only once blew inside out in a very strong sudden gust of window but it wasn't damaged at all. It is also wider that most umbrella, a big bonus.
The sturdiness comes at the price of being a bit heavier than most umbrellas. It's not really a problem for me, it's still easy to use. To close the umbrella I need to press the button which folds it down, then press both ends of the umbrella to make it telescope. This takes a fair bit of force which could be a problem for someone with weaker arms.
On the whole I'm very happy with it.

lauraGd: Honestly it's a life saver. Really great in wind, I love the spring button and it's quite a large umbrella also so you get good coverage. My only complaint is that it's a little heavy and larger than many compact ones I've tried. But it works so I think that's the sacrifice you make!

Anon-e-mouse: This is a decent umbrella. Portable, can be bright yellow- for dark journeys at Dawn / late evenings and extends or re-folds at the press of a button... the downsides are
-the weight is slightly more than 2 or 3 normal small folding umbrellas
-once-opened, the umbrella cannot be reduced in length without pushing the button and pressing very hard on the stem... which if you are out-of-shape or old could pull a muscle of done incorrectly... (i.e. push it against a wall, not your other hand)
-when you press to re-fold, be aware that a load of droplets can bucket down onto your head if you do it that overhead
-the black plastic centre / ground resting tip on mine broke off after about 4 uses - but it is still perfectly functional without that.

Despite those neg's this is my travel umbrella of choice.
