Bought for my niece and she quickly learned to tell time without looking at a digital clock. Now her little sister will use it to learn to tell time.

denriquez007: This will be a Christmas gift for my three year old grandson. He'll love it. This is so much more than a clock. He'll learn different times of day and what time he needs to get up and ready for school.

Amazon Customer: As the grown up (well kind of), I do wish this had the UK dialect of how to ell the time vs international (US presumably in this case). i.e We would said '10 minutes past...' not '10 minutes after'. Another issue is that the hour and minutes move independently, which is great for switching the time, but looks significantly wrong for times after half past. e.g. to set '5 minutes to 12', the hour hand stands directly on 11. The actual issue is, that as you move the hour hand towards the 12 to make it look like the wall clock they are also learning off, it triggers the 12 straight away. If the device was programmed to only count the hour if it hits the hour, it would act more realistically. Currently the selected hour is everything from the last hour + 1 up to including when you hit the next hour. The moment you slightly move off the current hour to the next (even by a mm), it is already the next hour. Super confusing for me, let alone a three year old, also using real clock behaviors to learn.
However though, my Son still thinks it's great!

Sophie Hadley: So my boy is 2. Most the feature about the time is a bit advanced for him but he enjoys playing with it anywya. But the night feature is great. The music soothes him and sends him to sleep. Also choice of colours to have on. Good

MAN: Good tool to teach children reading the time

HMeister: This is a great toy for teaching how to tell the time:
Pros:
1. It has 3 modes, a "you tell me what the time is"; a "move the hands to show this time"; and some kind of lullaby mode (which honestly I haven't tried). With modes 1 and 2, you can step up the learning or change it between modes to keep them on their toes.
Cons:
1. The Yellow hand broke on mine after a several weeks of light use. (It refused to register anything but 6 o'clock - luckily Amazon did a refund and allowed me to reorder a new one;
2. The red minute markings are a bit small and can be difficult for a young child to get the hand to point at accurately;
3. Mode 2 has several ways of asking what the time is, (e.g. show me 6.21 (easy to follow), show me nineteen minutes to eight - very difficult for a younger child) - and you can't choose how it asks what the time is - would be immensely helpful if you could, e.g. use one as beginner's mode, another as intermediate, advanced etc;
4. It takes some getting use to the hand positions - so 5.55 requires the hour hand to be on 5 - whereas in reality, on a normal clock, it would nearly be on 6.
Other than that, it's a good learning...

Nancy K. Wright: This has trouble with times like 8:50 because hands move independently. When hour hand should be halfway between numbers it is ina curate. I like the concept as well as the quick function.
