MARK LEVENSON: I needed a battery to replace the one in the remote for my ceiling fan. I have had it for 6 years and it didn't leak. The only way to control the fan is with the remote which now works very well, other 4 battery's have a 10 year shelf life.

Mark eMark: One thing I worry about when buying bulk batteries is how long will they continue to be viable? These appeared to be fresh! No sign of age, like powdered residue from acid leak or a dull finish. These 'A23' or '23A' batteries are for special devices like a mailbox alerter that needs higher voltage than most small DC devices, (they are 12volt). They meter up to full specs and I have now had the unused ones for almost 2 years, (as the first one is still going strong) and the look shiny and new with no signs of leakage. Good value.
