William AllenWilliam Allen: When you turn on the fan a ring of light appears as soon as the fan begins recirculating air and shows one of four levels, from red meaning really poor to blue meaning very good. As I worked on years worth of accumulations in my study--archival stuff--I had stirred up enough dust and mold (and cat fur and dander) that I got a red flash and then gradually a change to blue. The air began to smell clean and I could breathe better. I got a second fan for the bedroom and I have slept better ever since I began using it. I have a third fan on order to go downstairs in an area where we sit in the evenings. The fans are portable. When need be, I put one where it is most needed. Often I will turn the bedroom fan to the "pet" setting. The fan slows down, gets quiet, turns on every hour or so to check air quality and runs for as long as needed. Considering the power, this is an amazingly quiet machine. I am not in the habit of recommending things "without reservation," but of this Levoit fan I have no hesitation in doing so. I did not get a free machine, I am not being paid, I own no stock. But once in a while I like to share information about something that I regard as useful and pleasing....

Saaarrraaahhh: We loved this filter so much that we have two now and I’m thinking of getting two more for my kids’ rooms. In august, the smoke was rolling in from the forest fires so I got online and ordered one and it was delivered same day. The second one I got was “used” but had actually never been used. The box was a little beat up but the items in the box were still wrapped in original plastic. It keeps the air feeling fresh and we’ve had them on the low setting nonstop. You can hear them on the lowest setting at all. The middle setting is still manageable. The high setting is a little loud but we already have a sound machine going in our bedroom with the baby so it’s just like added white noise. Overall I recommend.

Martha: I love this thing. It’s just the right size to not get in the way but have good surface area for air intake. I have had it on auto mode and it’s done a great job of detecting the air changing (I go over to blow smoke near it just to watch it work). You can dim the lights for night and do everything right on the unit but I am the most in love with the app. My daughter is 3 and autistic and cannot resist messing with anything that lights up and has buttons - with the app I can set the purifier how I want it and LOCK THE CONTROLS so she she look at the lights and touch it all she wants without changing anything or shutting it off. It might seem small to some people but for our home this is game changing!

Shauna Miller: Granted, it's the only brand of purifier I've ever owned. The reviews were good so I took the leap and I'm glad I did. I bought 3 of the smaller purifiers first and liked them. Then I decided I wanted something bigger to cover the downstairs and I took the smaller downstairs one to my bedroom. This one is bigger but the shape is more convenient. I just placed it at the center of the downstairs against a wall. The round ones need to be further away from the wall because the intake is 360°. This one doesn't have to be pulled away from the wall. I keep it like an inch from the wall. We live in an apartment and we have a lot of neighbors that smoke w33d and it helps when the smell seeps in. I didn't realize it detected air quality when I bought it, so when it popped up an alert on my watch, I was pleasantly surprised. I didn't notice the alert for several hours so I went and looked back at the time of the spike and it was when I was burning dinner on the stove. Lol I love that the app keeps track of everything for me. I'd never remember to change filters or anything on my own. And all 4 purifiers I've bought have great wifi connectivity. Never any issues. I've set schedules for one...

PE anonymous: I really like this product. I have 3 cats and a dog in a smaller home so I wanted something compact and that worked well. My only complaint (and it is actually my hubbies) is that setting 2 & 3 are too loud. I just have it at 1 when we are close to it and 3 when we are not. So ultimately works great!

Andriy Makukha: I bought Levoit Vital 100S model, with WiFi. In retrospect, I should have bought a simpler model, without WiFi and without air quality sensor. The sensor always puts the purifier in the lowest mode, no matter how much smog there is outside. So the sensor is pretty useless.
But I have to say, this air purifier is quite reliable. My 4-year-old son dumped a bucket of water into it and after a week of drying, the purifier works like new.

Yo compre dos este y el Core300s.... la unica ventaja del core300S es quye gasta 10W menos (25W)...Mientras que el Vital 100S gasta 35W.
Entre los dos me gusto mas el Vital 100S.

Like many reviewers of this product, I purchased it because the wildfire smoke had infiltrated my house. I never ever thought that I would be "that" person - someone who needed their own atmosphere! But the irritation in my nose and throat motivated me to buy this unit for my well-being.

The reasons I chose this model are: the true HEPA, of course! Also the 3-stage filter. The CADR was good for the size of my rooms (I have open concept on the main floor, and a vaulted ceiling upstairs) the pre-filter is cleanable and I like the fact that I can also get specialized filters for Pet, Toxin and Smoke (in case things get really crazy!). The reviews are excellent and the price is right. I am seriously considering buying another of Levoit's units for the upstairs!

I have not used any of the "connected" features so I cannot comment on those.

The unit is easy to unpack and I was able to start using it immediately. It is very presentable; it's also light enough to be portable because I've been moving it from room to room (when the wind shifts sometimes the smoke comes into a different part of the house). Roni: I was looking for a air purifier for my common place and larger room/hallway. We have a dog that shed regularly and we are an active family that are constantly going in and out after hiking/running daily. I also cook a lot, and our main floor is a big open floor plan space.

My MUST HAVEs are: 1) be able to handle a big area, 2) good purifying function for dust, 3) can handle smoke purifying during forest fire season, 4) relatively easy maintenance, 5) as small as possible floor footprint.

My NICE TO HAVEs are: 6) Reusable filters or affordable replacement filters, 7) kind of loud!

I had Conway AP-1512HH for a while. I liked the filtration, but it was big and bulky, the washable pre-filters were kind of a pain to clean and replacement HEPA filters were expensive. And the color of black really doesn't hide my dust well in between cleaning. So I sold them.

I bought one, tested it out for about 2 month, liked it a lot, and got another one to cover all the open floor plan area in two floor. Here are the detail of my must-have and nice-to-have:

I haven’t tried sleep mode on this, and it’s a pretty noisy machine compared to another filter that I have of around the same size.

I am on my 3rd machine now as the first two suddenly started smelling like they were burning and stopped working. I was a little surprised when it arrived with an American plug, but it came with a converter so I thought nothing of it. Later, when the replacement unit had gone the way of the first in only 2 days of light use, I read the specifications and saw that it’s not made to work on the UK 240v circuit. It’s only rated for 110v, so no wonder they kept burning out, I’m only glad they didn’t start a fire!
Thankfully the seller was very god and even sent me a power converter - 240v to 110v - to get the unit working. But please be aware if you buy this unit that it’s not safe for use in the Uk with just a plug adapter.
So 3 stars and a warning. But I’ll try the new unit with the converter and hopefully can say lovely things about it, it did seem to work nicely the first time before it burned out. I bought it...
