Mark R: I ordered this product to connect an ethernet cable from my router to a Lenovo ThinkPad laptop. As it happens - not the fault of the seller, but probably more of Lenovo - I ordered the wrong thing. I actually wanted a Gen 2 adaptor, which I subsequently bought elsewhere, as I could not source it on Amazon. However, this adaptor worked perfectly well via the USB 3.0 port and I would recommend.

Colin: Bought to replace USB hub which never provided stable connection for my X1 carbon since purchased together in 2013. Played safe by getting OEM branded adaptor, having checked windows 7 drivers were still available from their website. Took a couple of hours to find out about RAR compression and identify a suitable tool to extract and install the driver, so not quite as easy as expected. Adapter works fine, providing stable connection at last.

Good Buyer: This is my third time a buy a USB network adapter for my Lenovo Ideapad 710S. This is the best, no problems at all. Other adapters just fail after a few hours and don't boot and connect correctly to the network. This is by far the best solution for Lenovo notebooks.

Chris P: I was looking for a USB to GBE adapter that supported PXE booting for our Lenovo X1 Yoga Gen 1 and Gen 2's. This one fit the bill perfectly. The BIOS/UEFI Firmware recognized the adapter and immediately presented the PXE boot option. Just remember that on your DP (or SCCM server running PXE/WDS), you should play around with the TFTPBlockSize and TFTPWindowSize registry settings. These can greatly improve the speed at which the boot image loads on the system. My optimal values were 4096 and 4, respectively, as I have many other Lenovo models to support. Just G00gle these and you'll likely find some good info on these settings.

Kevin Costain: When working, the product is great, however I do have a few concerns:
1. The CAT5 end of the dongle doesn't appear to hold connectors well enough, which leads to it slipping out and the computer disconnected. This has been a source of some flakiness.
2. This dongle doesn't work well with the USB hubs I tested it with
3. Rarely, but on occasion, the dongle is not detected by the computer. This requires reinsertion.
So, there are issues with the product. I wouldn't buy this expecting it to be a rock-solid tool. But, then you really don't have a wealth of options for products like this. When connected and working, it works well.

FootballPlayingKitten: Firstly there are many USB3 Gigabit LAN adapters though most (even unbranded) hover about the same price - thus it made sense to select the Lenovo one. Supplied by Amazon it is genuine and comes in the Lenovo packaging with FRU number.
It is based on the Realtek chipset that (again) most adapters use (at least the USB3 Gigabit ones) - and the drivers are automatically installed through Windows Update - though you can also download some directly from Realtek Taiwan or Lenovo's own website.
In use it has worked fine with either Lenovo or Dell ultrabooks and saturated LAN transfers (laptops equipped with SSDs) - without using Jumbo frames. Does not heat much, seems solid enough.

Ryan Kelly: The Lenovo USB Ethernet adapter works well with my Yoga laptop running Windows 8.1. No driver installation necessary and the activity lights on the adapter are nice when compared to others that I have used. No problems with connectivity or with the device showing up.
Not the cheapest adapter out there but very quality and matches my laptop color scheme perfectly.
