Whether you're an experienced hiker or a beginner, you'll be sure to find the perfect pole for your needs. With LEKI Wanderfreund High Fives Walking Pole, you'll be ready to explore the great outdoors with confidence. Raymond Seabond: Normally I get by without trekking poles, but I have used them when a back injury flares up, I have to carry a little more weight than usual, or the terrain is going to be a lot more vertical than usual. I thought I'd try this walking pole as light alternative to give a little support, and I thought it would be nice to have the choice of grips, like a cane and like a staff.
But the little bit that looks like it would serve as a staff-style handhold is really uncomfortable. It's not quite long enough, and the broad areas around the triangular cutout have edges sharp enough to feel like they'd produce hot spots on the web between my thumb and fingers.
I'm still going to give it a shot in my next mountain trip, because it'll just be day hikes, so I'll come back with an update if I find out it will work better than I expect. But, for now, I'd advise anyone else to just stick with one or two trekking poles.

Rajawali: Purchased the Leki High Fives walking stick to replace a damaged old Leki Wanderfreund walking stick.
Delivery of the item was prompt. Had to spend some time to ensure that the "speed-lock system +" is secure especially the lower pole due to the tapering. The High-Fives is well-designed and the cork handle adds to its aesthetic. I am confident that the "speed-lock system+" will hold.

Mike HMike H: Blew up my back, resulting in neurosurgery, some Ti hardware in my neck, and early retirement. Staying healthy and fit. Lots of hiking, biking and other outdoor activity.
Fast forward a year and buggered a knee while hopping a fallen tree. I guess my ‘parkour at 50’ club is not in my future. While healing up and working through recovery, the reality hit: I NEED A CANE.
I don’t want a cane. I’ve never been the hiking stick guy. I don’t want to look hurt, elderly, feeble. But dang I need some help. The Wanderfreund was a great answer.
Doesn’t look too ‘medical’. Can adjust based on circumstances. And the High Fives association is something that’s in line with my situation, even.
I’m not going to say any positives that haven’t been said. I’ll second the one negative that the cork handle’s ‘horn’ might not be weight bearing, and could snap. That said, I’ll learn from someone else’s experience and make sure and keep my weight centered towards the pole when leverage is necessary.
The other ‘negative’ mentioned is much more serious: COLLAPSE. In my opinion, for those looking to use this as a ‘cane’, this is much...

Laura: The Leki Wanderfreund cane is built around Leki's knowledge of building the best adjustable skiing and trekking poles. Their competitive advantage is centered upon their poles and external locking system to adjust the height of the cane (which is beyond "bullet proof" (check out the poor review of other adjustable canes that are 90% of the price of the Leki cane). In addition, the cane comes with Leki's handle which uses the same material they use in their top of the line ski and trekking pole handles. The design of the cane handle is beyond amazing and very ergonomic as well, especially if you want to expand the length for trekking. Thank you Leki! I now have all of your products for skiing, trekking and my new cane (while I await my appointment with my neurosurgeon).

McCallLJ: I bought the Levi walking pole to use as a cane because of temporary back issues. I won’t need a cane for long term, yet, so I wanted something I could also extend to use as a walking stick. The Loki pole makes a great cane. It is light weight and you can adjust the length to suit your needs. It has a cord On the grip you can wrap around your wrist when using or hang from your chair when not using so it doesn’t fall. The cork grip is strong and very comfortable when using either as a cane or walking stick. I put my weight on the cork grip when using as a cane and it is a somewhat flexible and easy on the hand. The hole on the grip allows for different hand positions when using as a cane or walking stick. The end of the pole is typical of a regular trekking pole. It comes with the rubber end cap for indoor use, as shown in the photos, but all trekking pole tips and baskets will fit.
Also, I wanted something that looks good, sturdy, and rugged. Even though, for the time being, I am hobbling around on it like an old man.
I read the reviews about the sections slipping. Mine also slipped at first when I put my weight on it. All I had to do was open the lose clamp,...

Kristen Scott: Typical Leki quality. I'm not nuts about the round knob for tightening the clamp on the collapsing mechanism, but that is only because it is a new feature. Well designed pole. Good Leki product.
