Kayla: For some reason, this book is one of my kids' *favorite* books. They request I read it repeatedly, every day. They're just about two. I got it about a month or so ago and it is already well-worn.

belle: My 3 year old loves this series but this one is a bit boring. Still good though.

Sarah M: Good book. Analyses situations nicely to make the kids think more.

Jane James: We had talked about sharing and my little girl went to extremes handing over every toy. The thing I like about this book is it doesn't say 'hand it over'. It says you can choose to share and if playing with something share later, exchange toys etc so gives good strategies.

CakesandBakes: It's always difficult to review books like this as everyone has their own needs and one book can't meet them all. As a general look at sharing and taking turns, this book is fine. It tells you all the things you would want to teach your child (or gives support for things you have already taught). It explains different ways of sharing and how to put it into practice. It also touches on the fact that it's ok not to want to share sometimes. The format of the book is almost bullet-point like (but without the bullets). There is no coherent story; I knew what to expect before buying. If you're looking at a broad way to teach your child about sharing, this is a good book as it gives quite a few examples, some of which I didn't consider (like 'sharing' your time when you help someone to do something). For something more specific to you, it's a good starting point for conversation. I tend to draw on my son's experiences and incorporate them into what has been written and it works well for us.

KDelo: We have really enjoyed this whole line of books. We have an only child (4 yrs) and as he is preparing for Kindergarten, wanted to make sure that he was getting the basics of how to express his emotions with other kids, since he is so used to expressing them with mostly adults around our family. So I bought a few of these, and we've enjoyed them so much that I bought the whole set.We read one of them every night along with several other story time books before bed. We can talk about the situations in the books, and relate parts of the books to situations that he is currently going through in Pre-K.
Having said that, it's not that we did not know how to teach our child manners... these books were also a way for us parents to get better ideas on how to discuss these situations with our 4 year old in a way that he can relate to. If the teacher lets us know that he was not sharing very well that day, we have a small discussing about the situation and then we read the "How to Share With Others" book before we go to bed. This in turn puts our son's mind at ease, and helps him better explain his feeling earlier on in the day and gives him ideas on ways that he can handle the...

Amazon Customer: We bought all the books in the series and they are really great. At least theoretically my son gets the concepts described. Now we are working on the practical implementation :)

Amazon Customer: Ibought this book for our two (and a bit) year old who is an only child and so hasn't had as much practise with sharing. When I got the book and first read it I did think he might find it a bit boring but in fact he is really interested when we read it together and I feel it is already having a positive effect. When we read through we talk about the pictures but then I also use it to relate it back to a real life situation he has been invloved in, for instance in the book a little girl's favourite toy is a violin but I then talk to him about his favourite digger. In tension situations when he is about kick off about wanting to share/not share I talk to him about what he has read in the book and he really listens and is more willing to act accordingly.
He's a bit young for the activities at the back but that doesn't matter we've already had good use from the book.
A bit expensive, but worth it!

Sean Maguire: I am a student in college majoring in Education and for some classes, we are required to go out in the field (i.e. classrooms) and I was placed in a Kindergarten class. I was instructed to develop a 15-20 minute social/emotional lesson and I based my entire lesson around this and it worked wonderfully; my lesson was on sharing. The book could easily be used with younger children, but was also great for my kindergarteners. The pictures are colorful, the students are very diverse, and it's a great way to show children various ways to share. The kids loved it and I did as well. There are also some great ideas in the back of the book-there are activities as well as questions you could ask your children/students on each page so you can have them engaged as you read it-AMAZING! Makes my life as teacher so much easier-I don't have to re-invent the wheel!
