liesbeth: This book is great guide on the journey to self-empowerment. It came into my life at the right moment: when I was feeling insecure, powerless and unstable. I didn’t know much about codependency before I read it. But I recognised a lot and became aware of many old programs in myself. It’s as heartwarming and valuable as it is confronting. I highly recommend it if you suspect you might have codependency challenges in your life.

Theebooblessbabe: I guess I’ve been living under a rock but I didn’t realize what codependency really was or all that it is. This book opened my eyes to the work that I have to do

Heidi Ecksmith: I was recommended this book and was hesitant. I started reading it out of a sense of obligation. I was drawn in. I felt called out and mildly offended at various points which I think means it was a good fit and that I gained good life altering information from it. It has genuinely changed the way I look at things and operate. I would caution not reading it unless you are ready to face your BS.

Lilly: If you even THINK this book may apply to you, just get it. I’ve known I struggle with codependency issues for years, and put off getting this book over the two months my therapist nagged me to get it. But I had NO IDEA that literally almost every sentence of this book would be highlight worthy - no exaggeration, you should see my copy. The psychology is broken down so simply, with so many examples, you are bound to find your situation in this book, even if, like me, you actually don’t have someone currently in your life with addiction issues. And if you’re as weepy as I am, you’ll probably have a good cry every other page as you realize how much you’ve needed this book in your life. I could just SQUEEZE the author - thank you for putting into words what I only knew how to feel before this book: understanding yourself is LIFE CHANGING. *buds blooming, happy tears, cuddling bunnies, etc*

Michael: I am finding this a very useful tool at the moment. There's a bit too much emphasis on coping with living with people with addiction (mainly alcoholism) and God is mentioned a bit, but those are easily adapted or ignored if your beliefs lie elsewhere. I do think the author could have given more thought on people reading this book not believing in God though

Nyla MONUSKO: A doctor and MD advised this book when I was struggling with my ex-husband and suggested that I read it and I did and I used it and I started taking care of me. I started thinking about me and what I needed what I wanted in my life and I divorced that husband . The best thing I ever did , going through a rough time now, and using the book again just recently a friend of mine was asking me if I had a book that might help someone that took care of everyone else and didn’t think about themselves. right away I thought about this book and I bought two of them one for me one for him. his friend didn’t want it, but he’s using it and it’s helping him take better care of himself, and he was a good friend of mine, and we become closer using this book together to help ourselves and to share with each other how is helping us. We live many states apart but are sharing & gaining strength/ knowledge/ help, using the this book.
