Non sono un medico e non ho mai studiato medicina a livello universitario, diciamo che la mia è “solo” una passione, ma negli anni ho letto molti manuali su come suturare, applicare nodi e su come utilizzare pinze e forbici in maniera appropriata. Grazie al kit di “Suture like a Surgeon” sto finalmente sperimentando e imparando come applicare dei punti e, a dirla tutta, oltre ad essere molto soddisfatto del mio acquisto, mi sto divertendo tantissimo. All’interno del Kit ho trovato forbicine e pinze (5 in totale), una serie di bustine in cui sono presenti fili, aghi e lame e un cuscinetto con diverse ferite da suturare. Inoltre, è presente anche un codice per scaricare un manuale nel quale vengono spiegate le tecniche per applicare correttamente i punti. Purtroppo questo è interamente in inglese e ho riscontrato qualche difficoltà con i termini più tecnici, niente di insormontabile ma era meglio se fosse stato tradotto in...

Jillian Kennedy: I recently changed jobs and needed a refresher on some of my procedural skills and found this kit to be a great fit. The product arrived quickly, and the box included everything as described. I like the compact carrying case for the scalpel, scissors needle driver and forceps. This one unfortunately isn't large enough to also hold the suturing pad, but the durability of each was more important to me since I don't intend to take it out of my house. The suturing pad has been durable enough for repetitive practice sessions, and provides a good variety of incisions to practice different techniques. There is enough room to create additional incisions with the scalpel as well. The kit comes with a generous amount of suturing material, which is another limiting factor of other kits I've used in the past. The included e-book provides a good high level overview of the pros/cons of different suture material, basic equipment handling tips, and the essential suturing techniques. It is not comprehensive, but a great adjunct to YouTube videos and other resources out there. james: This is an incredibly useful and high quality product from a great company. I ordered this product because I am matriculating into medical school in the upcoming academic year. I thought it would be fun and helpful to get a head start on learning how to suture, and this kit has provided me with the means to learn and explore. The product comes with an e-book that gives a general overview of many aspects of suturing. As a beginner, I found it to be a very simple and informative introduction. While the kit was already stocked with a number of sutures, the company reached out to those who bought the product and offered to send more sutures for free just because they are an awesome company. If you are a beginner, and you are interested in learning and practicing suturing, I would highly recommend this product. I have learned so much, and I will likely purchase other products through this company.

Jack Reep: I've never done a suture before, so this was my first introduction. I found the tool set and the included sutures to be of adequate quality. The practice pad is fine except for the fact that I find it can rip if you put too much on traction on the surface with the forceps. I'm not sure if this is due to my novice technique or the materials, but it took me by surprise (hence the 4 star for durability). From reading elsewhere on Amazon, it seems that suture practice pad durability/ripping issues seems to be not uncommon in general.

The ebook link didn't work, however I emailed the company, and they sent me a PDF copy within hours. Apparently, there was a typo in the documentation (an extra "G" in 'suturingGebook'), and although they fixed the errors, some units still included it. Once I got the ebook, I thought it was a fine introduction, and it at least gave me a clear enough list of the types of knots and sutures to look at and search further on Google/Youtube. One thing I wish I knew when I got the kit, which I learned when reading the ebook, is that to practice properly as if for a real life situation, you really should be wearing exam gloves when you practice.
