Chris Rahm: Worked well for a month. Then water seaped in and now it's broken. I made sure it was tight and oring was in place and it worked fine. Then I noticed display was blank I thought the battery was dead I untightened battery cap and once I removed battery I could see moisture inside. Replaced battery with brand new one and still not working, confirmed with the pink water damage indicator.

DubbsB: I bought 2 of these for my 10 gallon tanks on 4/21/21. Both have high quality heaters which I monitor closely to make sure they're functioning correctly.
The first malfunctioned by flickering and then shutting off. I changed the battery, noticing water in the clear part of the edges around the LCD display and the battery looked like it had a burn mark in one spot. The LCD screen also had a portion of it with water evidence.
The second one in the other tank suddenly shot up to 86.8 degrees 5 days ago which resulted in me lowering the temperature until it was 75 degrees which I wouldn't have realized had I not doubted the reading on the digital and tested with a secondary thermometer.

Coming back on this listing, it says "12 month warranty" and then there is nowhere to contact the seller about this. Go through Amazon for resolution? Great, will do, next, after damage has been done already to animals and plants within the tanks due to temperature fluctuations. If so many customers report the same major malfunction in temperature reading, 5-10° across the board, this product should be discontinued.

SassyPeteSassyPete: I bought two of these for my two tanks. Right off the bat, one of them wasn't working right - switched out the battery, seemed to be okay. Put them in my tanks. Then I noticed a few days ago that my one tank's temp was super-low. Okay, so I switch out the heater. Still isn't coming up to temp. Bought a 2nd heater (bad luck? Maybe...). Still not up to temp. So I finally got the idea to switch the thermometers in each tank - sure enough, it wasn't the heater, it was the thermometer.

Opened it up - and I see what I got pictured. A corroded battery in a leaking thermometer. I'm glad I caught it before it killed one of my fish kids, but I'm disappointed. The other thermometer is doing very well! I can see the numbers, it's super reliable - one of my tanks has an adjustable heater that the thermometer matches. Now I'm out a thermometer. Just disappointed.

LilaspenLilaspen: I bought this thermometer because I had my glass thermometer (the kind sold at many pet stores) shatter, and this digital thermometer saved the day! I’m never turning back. I bought two! One for my main tank and the other for a quarantine tank. For those using this product, make sure the battery cap is tightly screwed on and sealed so that no water gets into the device.

⭐️For the developer of this product:
The only critique I can give to the developer of this thermometer is that the suction cup is oddly placed in that the thermometer screen faces upward... being short, I couldn’t see the display without turning it at an odd angle. May I suggest that the suction holder be placed on a swivel so that the customer can adjust the angle of the thermometer screen. Or just place the suction cup attachment so that the screen faces flat forwards and not at an upwards angle. I had to hot glue the suction cup to the back of the thermometer cap... (Those reading this- never expose batteries to heat like hot glue. Not sure what the heat would do- and I definitely don’t want to find out!)

Other than the above suggestions, I AM AMAZED that the developers are not only...

Frank Ridley: Now..... this is what I like. A product that is well designed, cheap, and does the job.

The thermometer arrived after a couple of days. Installing the battery was a breeze. Instead of using a tiny little screw (can you ever find the right little screw driver?) I only had to unscrew the knob on the back of the thermometer. Seller even provided an extra battery Easy.

Thermometer's suction cup worked well. The LED read out was easy to read. And it seems to provide an accurate reading of the water temperature. All is well......
