This think works great. I found this is the best way to catch the flies lay it open on a glass table and it will clear out the room fast. Be careful with it. You don’t want to shock yourself. It does spark when it gets the flies a bit also.

I like these "racquet"-"swatter" styled zappers for maximum effectiveness (these will kill any bug, even harmless and beneficial ones so be careful where you put them), but these make a LOUD zap and even a sizzling sound that can be heard all across the entire house (larger juicier bugs will even spark and/or catch on fire!! - don't use these swatter-racquet style ones near curtains or any flammable fabrics/paper) and that loud noise can frighten babies/children, elderly people or those with dementia/Alzheimers or even PTSD, and animals/pets (I have lots of pets and 1 dog and 2 of the cats are VERY afraid of the noise; causes them anxiety, like fireworks/thunderstorms and etc).
I almost exclusively use these in the "automatic" position; just set them and leave them and clean with a brush when necessary (stuck-on, cooked-on, charred bits-o'bug!) Be aware you'll also gets bits of obliterated bug body parts scattered around the Zap Zone.
So these are great for mostly getting flies and mosquitoes if no one around minds the HORRENDOUS scary noise, but silent ones, like...

Bought 2, both returned. They zapped well when they worked, but the plastic slide switch broke off one and the charging port sunk in on the other so it couldn't be charged. They cost too much to be so crappy.
