Benjamin W.: Seitdem ich die beiden Keramikmesser habe benutze ich meine Wüsthoff Messer deutlich seltener. Man muss nur wirklich aufpassen und nichts hartes oder gefrorenes mit den Messern schneiden, damit sie lange scharf bleiben und nicht kaputt gehen. Auch zum Knoblauchzehen zerdrücken oder Kürbis schneiden würde ich sie nicht benutzen, aber für alles andere sind sie wirklich bestens geeignet. Die Schärfe ist wirklich nochmal 2 Nummern über allem was ich bisher hatte, ich bin gespannt wie lange das so bleibt. Ich habe die Messer jetzt seit knapp 6 Monaten in regelmäßiger Benutzung.

Megan: First…the white blades stay sharp much longer, at least twice as long.
The black blades have become dull in ten months.
I purchased a new sharpener and it does not work. I believe the knifes became even more dull.
Extremely disappointed in the newer knives and do not recommend them.

I am planning on sending my two black knives, my daughters four black knives along with several older white knives back to the manufacturer for resharpening. May cost a fortune but better than throwing them out.

Georgia: Doesn't have to be sharpened. But I was surprised at how light weight they are. My heavier conventional knives seem to give me a bit better leverage. But I still like these.

Miriam: My boyfriend had a ceramic knife he brought from Japan over 10 years ago - by now it was a bit dull and the tip got chipped so, I decided to get him a new one for his birthday... After quite a bit of research I settled for the Kyocera 2-Piece Set and OMG, I WANT them as well! They are absolutely AMAZING! They just cut through anything - to the point where I'm worried about my boyfriend's fingers... He says they are even better than what he had initially and as an avid cook, I think he knows what he's talking about. And the box/gift-set is really beautiful, 200% gift-able! Definitely one of the best gifts I've ever got - if you know someone who likes cooking (= values good knives), this is a gift that's bound to be a HIT!

RC Stambaugh: These are the best knives I have ever used. Very light, and they glide through veggies, chop beautifully, and clean easily. Although these Kyocera knives are not meant for heavy boning, they work well on raw and cooked boneless meats. I suggest a butcher knife for the heavy stuff.

Viola: I'm replacing Kyocera knives that are over then years old. The old ones will be sent out for sharpening and gift to a grandchild. With careful use, these knives will stay sharp and last a long, long time.
Yes, ceramic is brittle and does not hold up to dropping on tile floors, but I have had very good luck with mine.

User: Absolutely unbelievable so far.

It cuts with total ease.

Read about it before using it as it is not for everyone and every case. It can chip easily, so I've had to adjust my knife handling habits.

I've twice nicked my fingers- just like a paper cut that does bleed- in the two weeks I've had this- something I never remember doing before. This is only because the blade is so sharp that any contact- even contact without pressure- will slice through our precious skin.

Also, keep in mind that this is not for cutting everything. The manual says no bones, for example. So, you need to work with it in order to get its long-term benefits.

Makes an awesome gift!
