Mike P: Very nice set of quality knives,was recommended to me by a friend that is a top notch Chef. Extremely sharp,got a little nik when unpacking and didn't even feel it. Be careful. Only criticism I have is the size of the handle on the smaller knives,I have big hands and I do have some arthritis in them from my years as a mechanic so I find them hard to hold at times but that's my issue not the knives so I guess it's irrelevant. I would recommend these to anyone that enjoys cooking and quality kitchen equipment. Perhaps an option of a roll up pouch vs the glass knife holder. Depends on available counter space which is limited for me but would be a nice option.

Sandy: These are my go to knives. They are extremely sharp! The weight and balance of the large knife in my hand is perfect and is good size for many tasks. My only complaint is the set it is too tall to place on the countertop underneath the upper cabinets. Other than that, this set is just as good (if not better) as other brands that cost 2 1/2 times more. I’ve had this set for over a year and use them everyday. They are still very sharp. I just bought another set for my son and will do the same for my daughter when she gets her own place.

David A Nelson: I was trying to dice chicken for tacos one day, and realized I deserved sharper knives. I was planning to replace my woodblock with a like product, but was taken aback by someone's photo of the inside slots on their block. I took a peek in my years old knife block. It was pretty gross.
The glass and stainless steel is really beautiful to behold and looks like new after a 14 months use. The knifes that came with it were dangerously sharp, and have kept their edge after processing countless dishes.
I would not hesitate to gift this item.

B. L. HuffmanB. L. Huffman: After purchasing & using this Mercer knife set for over 4 months I am wondering why we didn't invest in a quality set of kitchen knives before.
The knife's are very sharp so be careful when first time using. I use them as quality tools and take proper care of them. I expect no problems with the knifes in the future.
Some reviews have stated the knifes have rusted or handles have come off. I think the reviews were for other knife sets as the Mercer set is high grade stainless steel and one piece so handles aren't seperate.
One issue to consider is storage UNDER a upper cabinet on counter top. There is not enough head room to remove a knife from glass holder. Angled storage would be a better option if placing knife set on counter under upper cabinets.
In our kitchen configuration that is not a problem and we love the glass display knife holder.

Neil: The media could not be loaded.  I was a little sceptic about this knifes at first they are quite heavy. It turns out they cut really awesome with very little effort as you can see in the video. I wish they would be a little bit more flexible, but I am generally super happy and recommend them.

Shirley Kelman: This is a great set of knives that also look great in the glass block, which is quite heavy & substantial. One of the reasons I picked the set was because I love the glass housing but I now realize one minor problem. There's no slant to the block, so you can't pull the large knives out while the block is under the upper cabinets. Since that is where I keep the set, it always has to be moved to access a knife.

Brendan M Oliver: These are some really good quality knives. The steel they use is not "stainless" as some summaries may declare, it is stain-resistant. It is also not high-carbon (1-2%), I would say it's more like medium carbon content (0.5-1%) but this is minor. The edge retention is really good, especially if you get a good honing/sharpening steel and whetstone to properly take care of these.

Due to their delicate nature in terms of corrosion resistance, it is essential that you clean these knives shortly after use and then hand-dry them as soon as you are able. DO NOT leave them out to dry as you will drastically reduce the lifespan, and DO NOT put them in the dishwasher as you will ruin them. You're probably wondering what you're paying for then, if these are so susceptible to corrosion. You're paying for a sharper edge than your average knife with greater retention. These things are SHARP, you will cut yourself if you're not careful.

Regarding the build quality, these things are very well-built. The handles are full-tang with rivets which is important for longevity. Their other set claims to have an adhesive that is resistant to blunt and heat trauma but I don't mess with...
