InframanInframan: Nice features but the outside knob is HUGE. They have another knob called the Hancock which appears to be the exact same thing. I really like the way its set up so you can't open it from inside while locked, got sick of being locked out by "fire safety" locks. But the oversized outside knob just bugged me, had to return it.

They have much smaller profile knobs with the same features so I'm not sure why this one is so oversized. Sounds crazy but this oversized knob just triggered me, had to exchange it. If the outside knob was the same as the inside it would be perfect.

One more issue, they randomly send out left and right side knobs, you might get lucky or you might have to install it with the lock upside down. Or you could take it a part but that isn't easy and it can break the lock.

dok: door knobs.. who needs them. i got to say it was pretty easy except for the old kwikset door knob had a slightly smaller hole thru the door than the new one so there was a lot of whittling away and a little hammering to get the new one in the hole.

Robin W: This was a replacement for a door knob that had reached it's end of life. Installation was easy and rekeying to use existing keys worked. This is a big plus to be able to have the same key open several doors, which is why I picked this model.

FF: The re-key is really useful. It is easy to install and re-key. I use the knob for my main entry door. I have another Weiser knob and deadbolt (with re-key) on my garage door. The keys are compatible after re-key. Now I can just bring one key for both entrance.

Amazon Customer: Returned it because my door is a bit weird so there's very little space to grab the knob. But it worked for a day and just in the case anybody is wondering: I was able to program it for "Weiser" key, and I was also able to program my "Weiser" lock using "Kwikset" key. YMMW, but it worked for me.

ChomskyKnows: Installed this in a house I'm selling. It's not bad at all.

Pros:
- speed. as long as you're not installing with a deadbolt, you may be able to do a speed run of uninstalling your old knob and installing one of these knobs in 5 minutes or less.
- value (got mine here for around $19.99)
- availability (can be found here, Home Depot, Lowes, wherever)
- SmartKey re-key thing is wonderful. Lose your key? Stolen? Who cares. Re-key the tumblers to a different key. Stick your old key in, rotate, stick the smartkey tool in (or anything of similar size), take out, take out old key, put in new key, rotate, done. New key now works, old (original) key doesn't. Can be done in 10 seconds or less. Vacationing? re-key 1 lock to an alternate key and give to neighbor. when you come back, re-key back to your key. you can let them keep the one you gave them or not, doesn't matter, it doesn't work any more...
