R. Flint: I feel you can trust your life to these products as I have said in previous reviews of Kidde Products. They are designed to last and so far I've only needed to replace these products when they reach their end of design life (about 7 to 10 years). I have bought this product before in 2016 and since it's coming up on its end of life I replaced it with this new one of identical model and make. This particular model is not only a carbon monoxide detector but it will also detect explosive gases. It plugs in and has a 9 volt battery backup in case of power loss. it's rather large so you'll probably want to plug it into an outlet that isn't near a high use area, but make sure it's in a area that can heard if the alarm should sound. The alarm is very loud so you don't have to be on top of it to hear it. I have it in my upstairs loft and I'm certain everyone can hear it in their bedrooms if the alarm activates. Dependable product. I highly recommend.

Dee: This is the easiest carbon monoxide alarm I’ve ever used. I have been using these for about seven years and just bought new ones for my mom. to replace the oil when she had mounted on the ceiling. These are so much easier to use than the ones that mount on the wall/ceiling. easily plugs into an outlet and uses an and uses a 9 V battery in case of a power outage. Detect several other forms of gas besides Carme monoxide. It’s very easy to read via a digital display on the actual device so if you have any type of gas in your home, you will see the number on the display. Luckily, I’ve never had any gas in my home. But I feel very confident and safe with this product. I highly recommend.

They are very easy to install and use, and the detailed instructions are quite adequate. I guess the fact that I've replaced one with the same make and model says it all. I highly recommend this CO and flammable gas detector.

The standout feature is it's clear digital display which provides realtime information about gas levels in our home. This display is easy to read even from a distance making it simpler to monitor and respond quickly. Fortunately we haven't had to respond to anything but the peace of mind is there. The alarm, when testing, is loud.
Installation entails installing the backup battery and plugging it into an available outlet. The battery back up ensures continuous monitoring during power outages.
