X-Sense Carbon Monoxide Detector Alarm (CD07) - Keep Your Home Safe & Secure

Josh in Seattle, WA: This kit of three carbon monoxide detectors is a good value to retrofit any midsize home with the required protection for carbon monoxide exposure. These have a built-in lithium battery, with a 10 year lifespan which shouldn't leak, and are considered disposable afterwards. A lot of municipalities and states now demand that any home sold must have these detectors and new homes are required to have them from the start. These are easy to use and attractive enough to sort of blend into the background. The mounting hardware made them easy to install once you figure out the optimum placement for carbon monoxide specifically, which is different than a normal smoke detector. These went in easily and seem to register correctly, but we haven't had a carbon monoxide event to prove that they work. Time will tell.

Bob The Builder: If you have a wood stove you need these. They could save your life. They have saved mine twice in 70 years. A wall heater thermostat went out and set the carpet on fire, and a faulty exhaust on a TOYO heater was filling the house with Carbon Monoxide. Better than Life Insurance because you don't have to die to collect the benefits.

3rd eye candy: We bought these to replace ones that were failing around our home. One of them seems to be flashing a very bright light… Its really a bad feature if you want a dark and calm bedroom, as the flashing is quite bright and repeats every 30sec-1min. Thumbs down for home use🤨

letmepicyou: I got these to put in both MY house and my rental property. You can never be too careful with CO, because you can't smell or taste it, and if your home has gas appliances, monitoring CO is VERY important. For reference, my CO levels are 6 ppm, which is a BIT high (less than 5 is ideal), but not in what I could consider "dangerous". If your average CO levels are over 15 ppm, I would consider ventilation strategies.

First, they're not clunky and old looking. One of the things people like is when something LOOKS cool. Ever play "The Sims"? We like aesthetically pleasing things. It's who we are. Otherwise, we would have never created art, right? So looks matter, and these have a decent look to them. They're compact, have a cool little LCD screen that lights up and shows CO levels in PPM (note that I did not check the calibration of the CO meter as I lack the equipment to do so to a lab-quality level).

They also have a nice stainless steel (at least it LOOKS like stainless steel) mesh around it, they're not too large, they just look kinda high tech. You might not think it matters for something like this, but do a double blind test and see, people will pick the...
