Jeff "The Voice of The Scots": We have continuously been updating our 23 year old home with this line of smoke detectors, this new model has the Carbon Monoxide detector as well. The newer updated versions have the battery on the face of the unit so it is not necessary to take the whole thing down to change it which is very convenient.
I am finding that the new-new units may be abandoning the "all wired together" feature for a whole house alarm...They are linked by wi-fi, which I have to ask, if there is a fire, and the power goes out, how will the wi-fi work??
Otherwise, this model is doing exactly what we want and need.

Richard Power-Fardy: Virtually identical to original (expired) smoke detector. Even the bases were identical. So installation was very easy. Wiring was the same - very straight forward. I would recommend this as a replacement or a new installation.

Chris: I retrofit all of our properties with this unit. It combines smoke and carbon monoxide detection and provides dual power - 120VAC and 9VDC. The front battery door makes it easy to change out the battery. The unit still beeps when the battery gets low which we consider an important safety feature. Annoyingly, like every other smoke detector on the market, beeping usually starts in the middle of the night. This feature is no doubt provided by the same people who train servers to wait until your mouth is full to ask you if everything is OK with your meal. Other than this, a sold unit with a low profile on wall or ceiling.
