Amazon Customer: The book was great. It was interesting to read the stories of the authors. The recipes are a bit ambitious for me at this time. I found the white print on the light blue color very difficult to read.

Pita: This book has some great information but I thought there would be more recipes. I also thought they would have dinner/protein recipes WITHOUT beans! I hate beans -- except green beans. I get nauseous at just smelling them. I've tried many recipes with beans in hopes that the other ingredients would drown out the bean taste. No luck. There have to be healthy recipes that don't call for beans! If you love beans go for the book. I should have waited to purchase a book at a book store so I could page through it first. Lesson learned. The other information and recipes look great so I'm going to keep the book.... but on to search for healthy non-meat, non-bean dinners recipes :)

L. Christianson: I'm happy to endorse this book, "Kicking Cancer in the Kitchen". For years we've heard the saying, "you are what you eat!" and truly, it's that simple. Our bodies are a complex system that deserves the best fuel possible, especially if when dealing with a potential life threatening disease or other condition that has the potential to impact your quality of life and that of your family. Kicking Cancer in the Kitchen, is a common sense approach to helping you learn to live your life, despite your diagnosis. Including this book into your arsenal of tools, as you become adjusted to the new you, or if you are fighting a particularly difficult battle, goes a long way to help you achieve your nutritional goals, maintaining a healthy weight, but more importantly, helping you psychologically with a plan for success. I treat my breast cancer like a business. I must pay attention to the things I'm doing, every day, and eating plays a major role in how well I feel and how stronger I get by fueling my body with good food and good information. So, my advice is, Keep Calm and Kick Cancer in the Kitchen!

Karen: As a cancer previvor (someone with a strong family history of cancer who has not had the disease), this book is one of the best resources I have come across to help me stay cancer free. Kicking Cancer in the Kitchen is really three books all in one. It is a beautifully written cookbook, an educational guide, and an inspirational book - all meant to help you lead a healthier life. The more than one hundred recipes taught me how to easily prepare delicious plant-based, whole foods that my entire family will eat. The many choices of healthy smoothies have become our snack staple and my gratitude for finally being able to get kale chips right is tremendous. As important as the recipes, are the tips scattered throughout the book that will make a difference to how you live your life. For me, understanding the issues caused by inflammation were eye-opening. But, learning that diet and adding such spices as tumeric could reduce inflammation were then comforting. You won't regret hearing the inspiring stories of the authors, Annette and Kendall, and learning from them how to use diet to help live the best life that you can. Reading this book is just like talking to your girlfriends!!

Ana: Hi! I was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in June! From there it all happened so fast!!! After surgery I spent a lot of time reading and researching and "Kicking Cancer in the Kitchen" is the best book/resource I've read yet. The plan is a bit different than what I am used to eating but I found numerous recipes I can 'deal' with and incorporate and I will then refer back to what seems 'more complicated' for me and try them too. The introductions and background information on these two amazing women I found very therapeutic. Oh! Someone(s) out there understands!!! Thank you for that! There are so many wonderful people in our lives (gratefully and thankfully) who would do anything to help us. It is my wish some of those people will read your book also. You give a wonderfully put insight that would be most helpful to them in helping 'us'. And might save a lot of eye rolling and internalizing on 'our' part. The links you provide to other resources have also proven to be the best I've found. Kudos to you both for putting together such a fantastic narrative and resource for 'us' who are searching for real information; and those who are wanting to help us. Thank you for putting your energy...
