James Russell Novak: This is the guide to crowd funding I've been searching for. It breaks down all of the phases of a crowd funding campaign into practical, actionable steps. It really made me think differently about my own campaign, uncovering a lot of blind spots in my own planning. Now, I'm confident that I'm covering all of the bases. As a bonus, the author's writing style is easy to follow and entertaining.

John A. Weiler: Incredibly detailed guide, with a flair of fun and business smart. This book offers a ton of valuable info to anyone getting started with a kickstarter campaign.
I love how the author emphasizes the importance of being personal with your launch team. As a copywriter, I constantly stress the importance of being personal with people who you want to buy your product. Personal sells. Always put the relationship first and people will trust you and want to buy from you. The author encourages this attitude in getting people to support your Kickstarter campaign, and I can’t agree with him enough.
Also, exceptional details in here about resources. The author gives some great resources about where you can get free music, lighting and filmmaking equipment on a budget, and more. Good info about the importance of your video in a Kickstarter campaign as well.
Honestly, this is more than a book about Kickstarter. You will learn a ton of things about marketing and business in this guide. Overall, it’s a very practical guide that really walks you through the process. When I am ready to launch my kickstarter campaign, I will revisit this book and go through it very...

GB: My friend and I are planning to develop a game, and to use crowd funding to make it a reality! This book will be the blueprint for that process. Written like a friend is sitting in your living room and telling you their personal experience with the process, much like Cody Smith's other book, it is easy to follow and a great process to use as a template. He even provides digital templates for us to use in our campaign! Can't wait to finish up this book!

Riku M: Cody Smith delivers the road map in "Kick Start", for the first-timer who is thinking about starting a crowdfunding campaign. He covers all the essential preparatory tasks, complete with a time plan for organizing the many steps necessary to set-up a project on Kickstarter. Joe S.: I have read a lot about running a successful Kickstarter campaign, including Jamey Stegmaier's book and blogs, and yet I still picked up lots of valuable information from Kick Start. I especially learned a lot from the sections on marketing and influencers, where I learned a lot of valuable tips that I hadn't heard before.
I liked how the author sprinkled humour and his own personality throughout the book as well. This made for an even more enjoyable read.
If you're thinking of launching a crowdfunding campaign, I would highly recommend this valuable resource.
