I bought this projector so my daughter could play Netflix/Hulu etc on her bedroom wall from her phone. A regular lightening to HDMI does NOT work. You need lightening to HDMI AV adapter, with a decoder chip, like this one - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009WHV3BM?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details
With the right adapter, it looks GREAT and sounds great. Just make sure it gets plenty of air flow.
